Seriously!  Gotta admit,  I'm feeling vulnerable today.  So many newbie compadres are jumping off, trying to climb back on, the more I read the more I'm learning month 3 is a white knuckle experience....feeling like a lamb heading to slaughter.  Don't like it.  Makes me crabby.  Feelin like  checkin out until month 4.

Thats a bad Idea!..Sticking around this board when you feel the MOST vulnerable is the safest bet...its members who "disappear", then return ,only to announce they have relapsed, and are starting over...dont you dare take a leave of absents!

Leaving doesnt help anything...

its all about choice...so...your choice...lick windows, or stay on the train?

Quits are not alike.  Just because someone else struggled in month 3 does not mean that you will!  Just make up your mind...not any harder that any other month, actually it gets easier all along if you just keep NOPE...and never let the idea of "just one" creep in.  You will be much more vulnerable away from here.  And just because a couple of your compadres made the decision to jump off the train...that has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU!

I always have a hard time when I see other's relapse, my addict gets jealous and tries to take over my brain.

Month three was a bit tricky for me, but honestly it was still much easier than month one. I think the deal is the shiny new feeling has begun to wear off, and all the new perks of becoming a nonsmoker are becoming a normal part of life instead of new found treasure. The grind is the same though, nope your way to victory. :)

Staying here and keeping these good folks near...has strengthened my quit.....

When your feeling weak and vulnerable...that's the time to be here 24/7.....

If you listen to those who have relapsed....I have never heard one whoopee dee...

Guard your quit...it's your life your saving....

Thanks Joe and All....   I have no intention of tossing my quit.  It's more about humming along being fat dumb and happy, having a tough moment now and then but certainly in it to win it, and then BAM....sh*t starts happening around me, I turn a few corners and warning bells n strobe lights start going off.  ACK! and WTF! all in short order.

Guess I'm just feeling like my zen and focus is getting bombarded.  Probably a better laid plan is to swing in for the daily NOPE but be selective on what I read and say.  Stay close to MDQ's info and leave the rest to the experts.  Right?  Just protecting it more than anything.

THAT's what I meant.  Appreciate your wisdom....always.

I am bringing up the rear in my zamboni. Welcome to Canada.

I totally relate. I quit on a small now-defunct board, and around my month 2 or 3 a long-time quitter began romancing smoking right there in front of me - she had at least a decade! I couldn't take it, and I felt my lizard junkie stirring, so I bailed. I don't think it's like that here, and I don't recommend you check out... BUT!

This is your quit. You did it, you own it (I like saying that today!). You do whatever it takes to keep it. This place is full of good advice and perspective, but you are the boss of you, and you decide what's right. There is only one goal, and you already know what it is.

RF, I struggled in month 3, you know, it probably the last month I gripped on with bare knuckles...month 4 was SWWWEEEEETTT  a proper break and I got a full day of not thinking about smoking once, was pretty odd after the rinse and repeat of month 3. Do not engage with other fails, they are not you, engage with other wins. I get it, I do, but it's always about you my lovely Runfree and anyone else and you are utterly worth this amazing feeling that comes later. All good, no windows to lick here, move along the bus :)

Bugsy vanilla haha.

Nobody gets off the bus.

Got it?

One of you thinks you can run through me - go for it.

RF, you would bounce off my belly like a puck off a hockey stick.

Each of us has our own quit. We alone are responsible for it. You want to read about dealing with tough stuff and staying quit? PM Jess or Doreen. Even our favourite village idiot Bakon.

You have all got this.

Anyone need a little lift - come sit on my shoulders.

I knew about statistics when I quit smoking but I would think, this is not me. I will be in the percent that can quit the first time out. Why bother relapsing if I had to quit again. If people can hold on I Swear the urge goes away. I

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
