I agree with Rob.  Passenger kinda feels like you're just riding along.

Hmmm..

I still like Newbie for newbs.  Maybe Old Timers for the 1+.  Maybe Teen for the 6 mos to a year???

I'm not sure about this one.  Pharte was okay with me too though.  :)

Yes, I see the points and agree.  I like Newbie for newbie too.  It says it all really.

I'm hoping more will weigh in with idea's.  We don't have to make a decision quickly.

I do think we should move away from pharte for the new members but it would be nice if

whatever is chosen has a spark to it like pharte does.  I am just not having any great idea's.

I like newbie, too...but if we want to sty with train idea, maybe traveler for the first stage?  There are so many creative people here, surely we can get more ideas?

Posted

It's definitely a matter of perspective.

I personally don't like newbie. It reminds me of the insult "what are you new?"

Never liked old pharte seems stinky to me.

To me passenger means Ive got my ticket and I'm getting on board. I suppose they could be coal shovelers to signify the hard work they are doing I was just trying to find train related terms.

Sorry Bonnie but I'm not into the train ones to be honest, I will pass on calling myself that.

Junior, newbug, swan, keeper, lifer,

Newb, newbee, newbug.

Jack, king, queen

Rock, paper, scissors

Bacon, Egg, Sausages.

Crawlers, walkers, runners

Ooopps gone off on a makeuppyy rampage;)

Number of posts and join date is all that's necessary to get an idea of people's quits. Color coding people for status purposes is demeaning, but we've lost the ability to see that as Failbook Nation has reached critical mass.

Color the magic pony.

So Padawan would replace grasshopper?

If you want the whole Jedi-consistent thing.  If not ... then Grasshopper it is.

I like star wars!

Yoda quotes are my fave.

Try not. Do or do not, there is no try.

Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will.

A Jedi's strength flows from the Force.

Around the survivors a perimeter create.

I remember when I first quit we had a group and we called ourselves warriors.  NoSmoWarriors.  A newbie really is a warrior.  IMO

Just thinking out loud.

I haven't voted, I don't really think it matters what we're called along the way as long as we get to the goal (not smoking) :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
