I felt the same way so I finally broke down and bought the book. I could only get halfway through before I gave up. I just didn't get what all the fuss was about.

I did read the book and it was ummmm...just ok. To be honest, I have thoughts pop in my head that are way more risqué that anything written in the book so the movie doesn't appeal to me at all either

I read the first one just to see what the hoopla was about got about 1/4 of the way of the second book and ummmm nope dumb book horrible writing and quite honestly if you are going to give me porn to read at least have a more descriptive writing style other than "down there" for the love of hell who says that?!? Will not see the movie cause well ick no interest. The books were given to me to read I did not buy them thankfully.

A friend of mine just posted a lengthy RANT on Facebook about 50 Shades, it being porn, Christians must unite, etc.  Maybe it is, idk.  I do find it interesting how there's her reaction and the next post I see is a group of women organizing to see the Magic Mike movie.

Yeah vampires do not sparkle and outside of a little bit of eye candy with magic mike no desire to see that either unless they turn into werewolves, zombies or vampires (that do not sparkle cant say that enough lol) I dont care if fifty is porn or not, it is the writing that gets me I could have wrote that book myself better and I suck at writing. lol

Ha!   I was just talking about this with someone the other day.  I have no interest either.  I guess I'm looking for more of a plot than porn!   lol

They didn't even pick attractive people for the movie. In my opinion.

Right?

They had Charlie Hunnam (Jax from Sons of Anarchy) cast as the lead but he backed out.

I don't know what the hype is all about. I read maybe three chapters of the first book and gave up. Horrible, horrible series. I don't even know how they would turn it into a movie without classifying it as porn.

I never had any desire to read them, but I received the first book as a birthday present.  First one was 'good,' second 'ok,' third was 'fair at best.'

I have no intention of ever seeing the movie.

I have a thousand better recs.

I make better movies than what mrs described in book. I didn't read but she did. Have to ask if she liked it when I untie her later

I started the first book and maybe got 1/4 through...not for me...would not even consider the movie.  In all fairness, though, I am not much of a movie person....

My niece got all the books and I read them after her, she cringed knowing the content she kept asking me what bit I was up to so if it was coming up to a rude part she had to leave the room lmao, and I quote " oh come on do you think your aunty Tracey, don't know how to tie a reef knot, oh the girl was traumatised, it was far more entertaining than the books themselves

I will watch the film though :) must admit am disappointed in the male lead though

I wouldn't mind watching the film. I did crack up that they are considering providing plastic seat covers in some cinema's here haha. I think it's weird they're releasing it on valentines tho? Anyway, I read all the books and thought they were quite good.  Also love twilight (and all things vampire/werewolf/sci fi except zombies, that freaks me out) and am very interested to see what magic mike can provide....

Basically I'm a happy follower  :D
