Been in a bunch of fields and ready for a change...

starting with age 10 as paperboy, printer and maintenance/custodial in high school, soldier, electronics, fireman (volunteer only), medic (not much, just driver as young cop but give first aid and cpr on regular basis, even do the AED thing), cop, work on bikes for free and couldn't see doing it for money. Enough superhero stuff, want to kick back a little and deal with more happy people and hang up cape.....maybe not tomorrow but....

Figure last time I can do a manual type job before sitting back due to age....so thinking of a few jobs but each got list of things I don't think I would like....

  • cowboy- hate country music and like animals, so couldn't kill them after naming them
  • professional bowler- just suck at bowling but like the beer there
  • councilor- people just don't listen and I would be repeating the same thing too much
  • dancer- to fat and think dancing looks hilarious- but like the music (not rap or country again)
  • bodybuilder/trainer- to little money and the shrinking testes thing
  • model- chicks too skinny in field- like curves
  • farmer- early bird and worm thing, don't understand why they get up so early for plants growing too
  • bus driver-hate smelly people and buses always smell like smelly people
  • trucker- muther trucker- hate speed limits but like travel...
  • lover- married, have to pass as she wont pay enough
  • contractor- only have enough skills for general maintenance and minor home projects, plus I love my truck and contractors beat their trucks up
  • cat herder- possibility
  • teacher- same as councilor, plus kids are ready dum and lazy, don't think they are worth teaching
  • Lowes paint mixer- only down side I see is working weekends. Everyone leaves happy, work is generally easy, pick up can, place in vibrating box, add some color, hit button, act like you are busy looking up codes, open and put dab on lid, ask "Is this what you want?" Put lid on, smack with rubber mallet, hand stir sticks, smile and say next......

Bakon, you're in luck! A friend of mine is the manager of a Sherman Williams paint store. If you move to Atlanta I'll put in a good word for you! As they say, it's not what you know, it's who you know.  :)

My brother quit being a cop a year ago.  Now he drives round and round grain fields in fancy air conditioned tractors with GPS controls.  And he does "other duties as assigned".  He is one happy bird.  We have NEVER seen him this content.  Country music optional but not required.

Hotel/Resort critic .. you get to drive, see different places, voice your opinion (all things you like to do ;) ) .. if you really  like a hotel/resort you give it 5 bakon strips,.. the lest you like it , the fewer  the strips, - I think if you hate the place you should give it the appropriate fat sausage to warn off other travelers :P

Very difficult to break out into normal street, people tolerant seems to be an issue, as well as the bs factors

Good luck but from a misfit point of view do something you are passionate about or boredom will manifest into something not good

Took me 5 years and even then still felt like a square peg in a round hole

I could see you as an dog trainer, you could study as you are smarter than you make out and then go private, maybe train dogs for private security or rehabilitate dogs???

Good luck!

Stuck here for a bit- but always looking out the window. I like the dog training idea, problem is you get cemented to a kennel and cant travel. Hard to go to a weekend event even with too many left at home. With right help that could be a good one. Paint mixing and goldfish for pets maybe....

What about outlaw? train robber...nobody does that anymore....

train robber?? do they even carry anything worth robbing anymore?? :unknw:

what about house sitting? .. don't laugh, those that can afford it pay good money to have someone live in their house while they're away,.. I know if I was one of those who needed a house sitter, I'd want someone with your background staying there to protect my place while I was gone,.. you'd have no trouble get'n bonded,.. you could travel to different places, and get paid to live in someone else's house for a while...

( now I need to find some aspirin...I'm not used to do'n this much think'n,.. :P)

Good idea, really bad timing (thx OPEC, you bunch of a-holes)....  Check into hiring on with a security company in the ND or AK oilfields.  Ridiculous amount of money earned, 2 week on/2 week off schedule, travel on your time off, not much crime or big events in AK but LOTS of bs, I think ND may be diff but idk how they operate.  And you get to drive a shuttle bus for a while too; window lickers galore.  For the most part, the security folks are all former military/law enforcement folks.

around here the only thing I notice trains carrying around here is frack sand......there have been a couple of derailments lately also I believe because of the new frack mines and the tracks were not kept up for the demand but I could be wrong what do I know? Not much to rob from them lol

Sounds cool. But whats fun in a bank with cameras? It would be a good gig for retirement. It didn't list pay either. Three lollipops a day?

Why don't you just start your own column/blog - that way you can work remotely from anywhere - travel as much as you want - tell people how stupid their ideas, opinions ans in some cases their beliefs are (best part you will get paid for it) come on who wouldn't love to get paid to insult people or give them a reality check once in a while.

The only other options would be game show host - which would provide much entertainment and some good looking assistants

or you could have your very own umbrella cafe (grease truck) work 7 am to 3 pm Monday - Friday (you just need to know how to cook fast and well)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
