9 Days

Well I'm still in my pj's at 4 in the afternoon today but I'm not smoking. Yesterday was good! Today I feel cranky & tired & have no motivation at all. I know should go for a walk but I'm too tired....the insomnia is catching up. I hope Day 10 is better.

Sometimes we need to sleep and sometimes we need to push ourselves out the door.  No matter what, focusing on the bright side of this change in your life will make a HUGE difference.  Even if those positive thoughts happen in your pj's.  And remember that EVERYTHING is temporary...so tomorrow may be like yesterday.  9 days.  You're doing great.

Thanks for the support. I just want to get past this crazy unwell feeling. It helps to know you have all been there. And you're still not smoking. I had to use 2 pieces of gum today so I know I still have nicotine in my system but better than a smoke. I feel a bit guilty. Maybe in a few days I won"t need any gum at all. Started with 6 pieces a day & down to 2. One day at a time. Day 10 tomorrow. Feels kind of like grieving...sad.... but glad to be getting all of this fear of quitting over with. I WANT to quit for good. Never want to go through this again.

 I feel a bit guilty.

Hi again, Tyme2B.

It was great, speaking with you in chat ...

I hope you don't feel too guilty in fact, I don't think you should feel guilty at all. Many have successfully quit, using Nicotine Replacement Therapy. I just know, that it will be even better for you when there is finally no nicotine left in your system. You are close ... Congrats.

Tyme, Mike's right. You need to stop feeling guilty right now - you are absolutely nailing this to the proverbial wall! We all have our own ideas, but in the end it doesn't matter how you quit. Just that you do it. And you are, and it's a great thing to see.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
