I seen this a couple of days ago - I hate those graphic adverts. I think not everyone will agree, but I honestly think these adverts only appeal to non-smokers. When I was a smoker, I would always ignore these shock ads (along with health warnings and pictures on packets etc). As a smoker I knew smoking was bad for me. It want anything new.

I wish there were adverts that had a group of ex-smokers talking about how they feel a lot better a year on... How they had good days and bad days, but overall now they feel wonderful... And that although NRT options exist, there is no one magic fits all solution... Followed by maybe some research resources sites (not a government sponsored 'scare portal').

My two cents!!!

Totally agree rob I ignored all of it, and most smokers for that matter also do but hopefully the youngsters or any other non smokers for that matter will think twice.

I agree too....if all the commercials had worked....I would have quit a long time ago....

I switched my junkie brain off to all the crappy stuff....ya that kind of stuff happens to other people ...not me.....

It's all the other ailment they don't show either....c.o.p.d....strokes.heart attacks...etc....

Yes...why don't they show someone having a limb amputated....because this nearly did happen....to me.....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
