No, we are not talking the potentially cool x-men mutations here, but the life threatening, horrible kind. Most of my friends in th UK have probably already seen this, but it really got me thinking - we really were taking a massive chance by smoking, even if we didn't consider that we smoked 'many' each day. Makes me feel like even more of an idiot thinking back when I used to say 'it's OK, I don't smoke that many'.

On the cruise I just took there was a smoking section and bar by the pool. I noticed that the older smokers sounded terrible! They were coughing so much with such stuff in their lungs. Plus they looked unhealthy with grey skin. Yuck.

I know the death look... I seen it so many times of myself in my mirror when I was a smoker

Makes me wonder how many people were looking at me for the same reasons in the past... never again!

Good video, but when I smoked, I felt that scare tactic videos don't work and encouraged me to smoke more (I think this was Allen Carr's view as well).

I'd look at these advert and think, "oh dear, another anti-smoking campaign clearly created by a bunch of folk who have never smoked in their lives".

In retrospect, this type of campaign should stop someone smoking, but smokers are immune to shock tatics. It would be good if a campaign that can really not alienate, but relate and communicate with smokers in a way that they can appreciate.

Just me two cents :)

Just watching the news...a spokesperson for something or other came on...both La Bandita and I immediately commented "smoker"; purely from the colour of her skin...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
