Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.  Mary's third of eight chemo sessions was today. After the second chemo, the lump had already gotten 50% smaller.  She is doing okay, just very tired.  After the chemo, will come the simple mastectomies and reconstructions...that will put her out of commission for at least two weeks.  After that they are thinking 35 radiation treatments,

Thank you again for all the love...and please don't turn pink...it will make me cry for days...

I'm counting on you, DD and Humbled!

50% smaller??!! That's so encouraging! Thank you for sharing that good news, Nancy.

I'm sorry that your sister has to go through all this, but at least the treatment is working. Thank God!

Tell your sister to rest and treat herself with TLC. I'll be praying for the both of you.

To clarify, DD and Humbled are doing a race for the cure and said they would include Mary...

Thank you for the update Nancy. I am glad that Mary is responding well to the treatment. She will most definitely be represented by us in April! :)

That's such an encouraging start to the chemo Nancy. Good to hear the update too, I never quite know whether it's right or wrong to ask.

Will keep Mary and your family in my healing circle prayers.

Nancy, sending some healing waves to your sister. How are you doing?

I'm good, Beacon...I think it would be easier if I could be with her, but she has a great support team!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
