I know that people successfully quit using nicotine gum, but exactly how many compared to cold turkey?  I used Wellbutrin XL when I first quit in 2012 and relapsed after 9 months of being nicotine free.  Then in 2013 when I quit after a week of relapse, I did so cold turkey.  I will never allow myself to forget that I'm a nicotine addict and am one puff away from ruining my quit and possibly my life.

Again, not against nicotine gum or other forms of NRT when used to ween off completely from nicotine, but just want to make sure that everybody has all of the information available to maintain smoke-free for life.  When choosing how to quit, make a decision that will give you the greatest success at not only quitting smoking (the easier part) but also staying quit.  :)

30 Years Of Nicotine Gum

Nicotine gum has now been available for over 30 years. Video discusses the dismal success rate of this product as well as introducing materials explaining why all of the aids out there have done little in helping people to successfully stop smoking.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
