This is a fallacy.  Smoking was a way to relieve and feed your addiction.

Take those moments you used to smoke and sit still and breathe beautiful oxygen.  Spend your 'smoke break' thinking and BREATHING breathing breathing...

That is how to relieve stress.

It's impossible for smoking to relieve stress.  Don't believe the lies of smoking anymore because as long as you still believe them, you leave the door open for relapse.  For relapse, there is no valid excuse.

Sorry,Jess, I have to call bullshit on this one. you are letting the junkie take over...the smoking relieves the stress until the next time you have to feed the addiction...20 or 30 minutes, maybe?  And, you know that very well...put on the big girl panties and get through it....just for today.

Jess - keep taking it one day at a time and you can do it - no need to keep your fingers crossed !! Remember we are here for you if you need it - so don't forget to ask - if you need some support !

.."sometimes it just doesn't seem possible to remain smoke free for a lifetime"......Jess, sweetie it's not a life time - it's today -- we don't smoke today..thats what we have to do, not smoke today... then "today" becomes yesterday.... it's our yesterdays that we didn't smoke that add up to 6 months quit - a year quit etc..

.. we can't re-do anything we did yesterday..

.today is what is important... today we protect our quit... so that tomorrow we can say.. " Yesterday I didn't smoke - today I will do the same"

it's just one cigg, it's just one crave, it's today that we don't give in... do that and time itself adds up to take care of the rest :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
