I am a slow lazy reader, takes me months to read a book unless it's juicy then maybe a week lol

Movies are great as they take little effort and the end game is known in an hour and a half (I am impatient)

But I should read more!

Books are better for most genres because the author can let you know what is going on inside a character's head which explains various attitudes and actions. You can also conveniently get the backstory which also is very  helpful to understand characters' motivations.

Movies are better for huge, gorgeous landscapes (like Dances with Wolves) and for special effects.

I think that the book is better simply because of your imagination.  I use to read constantly, always had my nose in a book.  Not so much lately though.

I haven't read a book in a long time. Too busy and too lazy. I do read the QT daily though  :)

Books are probably the better, more immersive experience, but movies are much more convenient - only takes an hour to watch a movie, but takes me days, or even weeks to finish a book...!

Reading a book is MUCH better than watching a movie as I fall asleep during the movie!  lol  :(

Here's the thing, there are really good books and really bad books, also, really good movies and really bad movies.

A book by default is not better than a movie or vica versa.

A good movie is better than a bad book.

A good book is better than a bad movie.

Movie adaptations of books can be good or bad.

If you read the book first you have already pictured what the people look like and generally dislike a movie of it because it doesn't match your interpretation of it.

And so on.

Why is there no option for both? lol

Example: Harry Potter series.. I loved both the books and the movies.... books more though.
