Evelyn, with everything going on in your life, please don't put pressure on yourself to toss the nicotine gum.  You're not smoking and you're in a good place.  You'll know when the time is right and you'll do it, there is no question about that.  But for right now, don't add this unnecessary stress.  Your lungs as asthma are happy that you're not smoking.  :)
