Gloriously, horribly, bad cheesy 80's horror flicks...

I am in my glory!

Currrently watching: Freddy's Dead: The final nightmare (even though they did how many more after this one? lmao!)

Love nightmare on elm street... Was just reminiscing about them with my brother lwst night. We both agreed that Dream Warriors was amazing, I arged that Wes Craven's New Nightmare was actually good, and we both hate the remake :)

Which one is the final nightmare, the 3D one?

I think that this was done in 3D but I am not sure.  This is the one where Freddy sends a kid into another town to bring back his daughter.

I agree Dream Warriors was the best one ... aside from the original, of course.

The remake of the original was crap.

ETA: yes this one was definitely the 3D one... lmao! GLORIOUS!

I will never forget the vein/puppet scene in Dream Warriors! Umm... OTT horror is fantastic... I love stuff like Child's Play (Jennifer Tilly, what a woman  )...

What else will they be showing for fearfest? I could talk about 80's horror for hours... Ooh, re-animator! Actually, anything by Stuart Gordon!! Must stop talking now, lol

Keep talking bud! Re-Animator is classic!!!!

They just had a Friday the 13th marathon. There will be a Omen marathon this weekend. I walk around the house saying "It's all for you Damien" and he gets so mad at me.

Re-animator... Barbra Crampton... Ummm. Actually watched From Beyond the other day. Love that almost as much as re-animator.

Friday the 13th is my guilty pleasure... I love them all. Except part 3, which sucks. Part 4 the final chapter (yeah right) with Corey Feldman was my first ever VHS that I owned, and I've still got it now :). Also like Jason takes Manhattan; the one on the boat. Just remembered that I hate Jason goes to Hell, too - rubbish.

Omen is great, the original one especially. We joke that my cousin is Damien... But not to his face; he is EVIL! Now I'm going to have to watch it again... For some reason, when I watch the Omen, I always want to watch American Werewolf in London... Have no idea why - maybe I watched them both together when I was younger...

I love Friday the 13th especially 1&2... absolutely classic horror. The others were just cheesefests where you counted the bodies piling up! I met Kane Hoddard, he was Jason for awhile. Dude was a douche. lol

American Werewolf and the Howlings are their own marathon. I love the lycan films!

My Damien is sweet, lmao, that is why he gets so mad at us.

I love The Bride of Chucky-that cracks me up & all The Omen movies, the remake of the first one is pretty cool. Never got into those Freddy or Jason movies & The Exocist from the 70's still scares me to death but I might watch my son's dvd of it cause I want to see her do that spider walk on the ceiling of the staircase.

Generally I would say that the old stuff is better than the newer stuff, but I do have a soft spot for most horror. Love the Scream movies, even if they are tacky. Saw Annabel the day before yesterday, which was good. One modern film that was REALLY good was Drag Me To Hell... If you haven't seen it, then watch it :)

I love Drag me to Hell. That is one of my favorite recent horror movies... along with Jeepers Creepers. That one actually creeped (see what I did there) me out. I can't watch it alone. I will also admit to liking the Scream franchise they are my secret shame. I have a soft spot for those because my youngest brother and I went to go to see them in the theater together... all of them... every time a new one would come out we would high five.

Currently getting ready to watch: Eight legged Freaks!

Jeepers Creepers... thought it was awesome at the beginning, but the demon thing just underwhelmed me a little... but this was a long time ago.  I might have to try it again...

I sneakily watched Scream with my sister when I was a young'un, about 14... probably the perfect age to watch it.  I couldn't remember seeing anything quite like it before, and I got hooked on slasher flicks after that... I have watched every one that I can get my paws on, I must have seen many hundreds by now...  Have you ever seen The Initiation?  That is one of my favourites.  The Burning, also... Madhouse, Terror Eyes, Sleepaway Camp... so many good films, and so many BAD films, lol.  Going to go through my collection later, and tell you my favourites that I can't think of at the moment ;)

OMG Sleepaway Camp!!! That one is so bad that it is good... the end? Haha!

The creature in Jeepers Creepers could have been a bit scarier... the sound effects were freakin' gross.. just gross. The premise of the creature was original and well written and the final scene... freakin awful! That is what I can't watch. I agree they could have made the Creeper scarier and less of a cartoon character. Also, they should have stopped at one... no need for two and now three eventually.

AMC Fearfest is always an annual tradition.

By the way Devil..have you seen any of the V/H/S movies? Pretty good.

Of course it is Armed!

No I haven't but I just looked it up and will definitely be checking it out! Thanks!!

They are mini movies/shorts (like 4) all wrapped into to one. People seeing found footage on video tapes.

V/H/S is good. Very scary.

V/H/S 2 has one of the best segments EVER called Safe Haven (the one with the cult).

The third one is coming out on Demand/ITunes today. Gonna check it out this weekend!

You will likey!!

And don't read TOO much about them. Let it be a surprise!!

You guys certainly covered the classics - special effects were lacking back then but I will always remember the first time David changed in American Wearwolf in London - that was a pinnacle moment in cinematography it set a great precedence for all films after it. Freddie, Jason, Michael - all entertaining nothing scary about them - now back in the day you could scare yourself after reading Salem's Lot looking out your bedroom window at night, or waiting for Candyman to show up-scaring yourself is always fun - walk to your room but run the last few steps and jump in bed just in case etc.. we have all done that and scaring other people is just plain fun..

I enjoy all the movies - I don't find any scary but clowns freak the hell out of me - right down to the one from IT- they might all float Ralphy Boy but I hate those damn clowns.

Looks like your profile was hit (wasn't me I don't have those super powers).

If you are skerred of clowns then do NOT watch the new season of American Horror Story... freakin' terrifying! I haven't watched last night's episode yet because Mr. DD wasn't here (to laugh at how ridiculous I am being) when it aired last night. Seriously I want to punch the make up artist... then give him an award.

Likely story - it must be one of those phantom ghosts that's lurking around.

Yeah me and clowns not friends - I will check it out though because I don't have to see them in person lol.

V/H/S was good... Liked the scene in the hotel. Not seen the second one yet, but it's on 'the list'.

Agree with Humbled about Candyman... Wowsers I never could stand in front on the mirror and chant his name, terrifying!!

And Cujo... Personally I thought the film was pretty lame, but the book was even worse - yawn, lol

Just going through my video (yes, I still watch VHS!) collection, and I would consider these some great horrors:-

Chopping Mall

The St. Francisville Experiment

Dream Demon

Next of Kin

Schizo (might also be know as red playroom)

Link <--- killer ape movie ;)

Poltergeist

Ghost Town

Castle Freak <--- highly recommended

Night of the Creeps

Basket Case

Witchboard

The Stuff

The New Kids <--- for goodness sakes, track down this movie and WATCH IT! Has an extremely young James Spader and also Tom Atkins (from The Fog) - one of my favourite movies of all time!!

Cujo is what is on the channel now. I am only half paying attention. It is not my favorite King book/movie either and I want to throttle Danny Pinto's whiney ass the whole movie. My Midian resembles the dog in the movie facially... only mine is a Boxer not a St. Bernard.

Candyman never scared me. The ongoing urban legend for us was Bloody Mary, lol.

Okay the best thing about the Nightmare on Elm Street remake is Rooney Mara...

I didn't think that there was anything good about that remake, lol... Honestly, I hated it!
