I wish we could have comments and conversations on the profile page.

 

A 'howdy do' every now and then would be cheering

and not as involved or private as a pm

What does "decorate a profile" mean? Paint? Wallpaper? Cute sayings? Huge pictures in your signature? What do you mean?

 

All of the above.  Try it out, Chrysalis, and do it with a smile.  :)

Decorate, meaning personalizing your profile.  However you see fit.  Pictures in signatures would be something completely different.  Either way, it's a way of projecting your personality and contributes to your identity.

I didn't think it showed up on the front page, I can't see yours or the one I wrote on pauls on the front, do you mean the front of your profile or the sites index thingy? ?

Ok - I tried to upload a background photo and I think I put an about me blurb but not sure how it is seen by others on my profile if at all.

I tried....I wanted to have a nice background, selected the picture, saved. Then it just shows up as a small square in the top left hand corner...not as a background :(

Mine did the same thing  - not sure how it is supposed to work.

After you upload, you need to click on the tile image box.

Ok I did that I guess it is what it says a background or in this case a border.
