So is it Normal

I'm not sure what you mean by "lightheaded". If you mean you feel faint, that is not normal and you should take that seriously. I worry about heart or blood pressure problems. On the other hand, I did notice that I had to teach myself to breathe deeply when I quit smoking. I think that my body was used to taking very deep breaths when I inhaled a cigarette. When I quit, I fell into a habit of only taking small, shallow breaths. Sometimes I would feel short of breath (i.e., short of oxygen) just sitting at my computer. Two or three deep breaths would fix me up. So try giving yourself more oxygen. If the lightheadedness doesn't go away, please see your doctor.

pull head out of butt and see if fresh air helps....

maybe lightheaded is just the fog clearing of all those chemicals. I would think a true medical condition would make you lose balance and more...

more info needed

I was definately "foggy" for a little while, I had real trouble concentrating, but not dizzy... So it depends what type of lightheaded I think. If you feel dizzy and a blast of fresh air and some deep breathing doesn't fix it I'd be concerned that you were coming down with an illness...any lurgi going around at work or home?

Yep I had that, loved getting a free buzz lol

According to my Doc it was just all the extra oxygen returning to your body and brain cos we weren't getting enough oxygen as smokers,

Another positive about quitting, great to O2 returning and carbon monixide leaving, its all good,

Feeling should go soon x

Sonic,

My Mom had this and it scared the crap out of her.  She actually felt like she was going to pass out.  Went to the ER and they found nothing.  Followed up her with Dr. and again, found nothing.  Said it was a virus and it ran it's course and went away.

Two years in a row the same thing has happened to my wife at work.  Last year she actually passed out.  They have a nurse where she works and she said it was a virus that was going around and several other people had the same symptoms.  I guess if it were me, I'd go to a walk-in clinic just to be sure it's nothing serious and to put my mind at ease.

Very well could be due to quitting smoking, please watch this video.  :)

Blood Sugar Symptoms

Many of the most common symptoms people encounter when first stopping smoking is due to a drop in blood sugar often encountered in the first few days after quitting. Video discusses why this happens and how to minimize the effect.
