I went to do groceries and didn't buy cigs

That, despite it all, is victory.  As I was reading through this thread this morning, not knowing how you were, imagine the smile on my face reading that not only did you go out and buy groceries, but you also didn't smoke!!

Please know that you're never truly alone.  You have your no-smo pals right beside you.

Evelyn - you deserve a nap.

Fighting these fights makes you tired. You won though. That's what counts.

Sleep well with a smile on your face ;)

So proud that you were able to get out and do some shopping without smoking!  I hope you are proud as well.  Have you thought of a reward for going 3 days without a cigarette?  What about a week?  That is coming up next!

A nap sounds like a good idea Evelyn....so proud that you shopped and didn't make a purchase...excellent job.

I am so sorry that you are going through this emotional turmoil Evelyn, I really am. Just vent and share with us, it might help just to get it out.

Yes I made it - guess I surpressed the grief too much which causes a volcano-effect!

ALL of you thanks

I made a mistake by oppressing my emotions - big time - it attacks you like a boomerang later on.

Hey Evelyn,

Sorry I'm late! I'm very happy you triumphed through it. I don't know when you lost your mom, but I know what that heartbreak feels like. I felt so empty and alone inside. I didn't smoke and you won't either, as long as you have faith in yourself. You can this hun. It's a battle, but you are so strong to have this desire to stay quit right now. You are doing the best you can; feel proud for every minute, every hour you go without smoking. You're doing it!

I think it was Action who said this, but you have us and I'm so happy you reached out to us. That's what we're here for. We can identify what you're going through because we've all been there. I can 100% guarantee to you that it gets better. You just have to hold onto your quit tightly, grit your teeth, and get through the cravings.

We believe in you!

Evelyn, so glad you made it. You sound better already. This will give you strength for your next challenge.

Remember after 72 hours the nicotine will have left your body and then it is all in your mind. You are doing great :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
