Rowly,

First of all welcome back to the QT :)  Now, I am certain I've said this to you before, but you have to stick with the board.  We all have stresses and crap that happens to us, smoking does not make anything better, it actually creates more stress.  You cannot snap your fingers and quit, you have to do a little work first.  Start by understanding your addiction.  There is a wealth of information on this board, read it.  Please do not leave the board the first instance that you feel good.  That is how you spiral out of control.  If you are feeling well, head on over to the social side of the board.  That way you are still connected.   Tell yourself how bad you want to quit, if you want to quit, you are going to do it.  You need to understand though, it is supposed to suck at first and every once in a while after that.  Nothing worth doing is easy.  This is a journey, not an overnight transformation.  Anything worth doing well is like tea, it needs to steep for a while before it is worth drinking.  Take your time and enjoy the ride.

Ok..... so it kind of sounds like you have some anger issues... 10-4 ...I did to.  Listen Rowly, when I first quit I was pissed off at the world.  There were people on the forum that told me to try deep breathing excercises.  I laughed at them... I said I am a man...I do not need sissy breathing excercises.  Well... one day "the boy" pissed me off so bad that all I could think about was having a smoke.  But instead I got online and Youtubed some deep breathing excercises.  I swear to you...it works.  Everytime I got pissed....  4 seconds in... 4 seconds out... in a room by myself.  It relaxed me...it got me over the hump.  Try it... try something else...keep trying... you will get there.  I have soooo much less anger now as a non smoker then I did when I smoked.

dust yourself off and get back on.

I was chewing gum at the time.... anger issues yes. I'm smoking again. The Allen Carr clinic said I can go again next Thursday, so until then I am smoking. I'm going to post and prepare myself in the meantime and hopefully I will be ready to quit by then.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
