I waited to post. It's been a week today

It's a week today since I stopped smoking.  I have been working with a quit smoking counsellor and was not intending on using internet support forums.  This was until day 4 when my withdrawal seemed to be very intense and it was the worst day for me since I quit.  I did not want to return to a wit site and say I was quitting only to fall over again.  I do feel like this time I have the right mindset to carry through with the task at hand.  I have been reading and watching Joel's video's which are very good.  I hope I can share this journey again with some others.  I am a person who who does spend a long time looking at the past, but this time I am seeking to learn from the mistakes of the past but not dwell on them.  As Joel says in one of his video's don't ignore the negatives, but live in the positive.

Hey Dancer - good to see you and congrats on a great week to date ! Being part of a forum was an important help to my quit - so stay close to the board, make the most of all the tools available here and remember we are here to support you if you need it a0d0423989cfe63dbac86525c36d6b54_zpsff34

Hey, dancer.

I am just ~23 hours from my last hit on a butt. (Quitting again).

I don't know by what name you will remember be by, Schmokefree, oh yes I had a panda bear avatar a few years ago, then the stop sign.

But, I think you should remember me as Mike, too.

Take it easy. No pressures here.

I too, needed to join some friends on a site again, to help me sustain a quit. (If that is what you are doing).

Anyways ... good to see you!

Dancer,  It doesn't matter if it takes 100 quits to quit, what matters is that you do quit.  You wouldn't be the first to quit many times and you won't be the last.  Stick with the board, use it for all it's intended, SOS, vent, social, celebrations, education and I can almost guarantee you that you will find your sticky quit.  There is a reason why an online support forum works so well.  It's the large community, there are members who have been in your shoes and will drop a lot to help a quitter in need.  At the very least pledge to take the daily pledge, every morning.  Congrats on one week!

Dancer, let's not spend too much time dwelling on the past... It's the present that's important... And building for a better future - you can't change the past, only learn from it.

You can do this dancer - congratulations on a week free!!!

Hey Mike did you see MQ's post about, The ex-smoker.  I really liked it because it just reminded me of some of the things I've done wrong and how to beat this this addiction.

No.

Thanks, I will look for it later, when my head isn't in the clouds. Have ever flown in a small airplane into a cloud. It looks like you are in the middle of a ping pong ball. That's me right now.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
