I get some great ideas here. Today, I'm going to buy a few annual flowers for the patio. Spring is finally here; yeah!

Julie, I remember you mentioning Lush the other day. I LOVE Lush. Now I'm resisting the urge to buy. :P Damn, so tempting.

Sometimes, I go into that store just to stand around and take in all the scents.

The sales girls sashay over, trying to sell me their expensive goods and I say "No no....Im just here for the free smells. There isnt a time limit, is there?"

When they tell me I can stay as long as I like, I smile, whip out my yoga mat and spread it out on the floor.

They arent quite sure what to do with me......

Ok. Im kidding.

But jeeez, that store smells good. And I do go in to just hang around and smell stuff :)

So I did it...I went ahead and bought new race boots that I didn't need....and then justified splurging by saying "it's ok, you deserve it for quitting smoking".  :(

Hehe, I was envisioning this in my head.

The last time I was in Lush (which was months ago), I dragged my boyfriend in with me. I did buy stuff (not enough for THAT much) and my boyfriend stood around awkwardly while the sales clerk talked my ear off. Finally, I said no to some foot scrub she was trying to sell me. I don't really NEED food scrub when I have a Rexall basically in my closet as it is. I've never seen my boyfriend so relieved to get out of a shop before, lol.

Aine -

Jo Nesbo sounds right up your street for books.

Cheese...well now we are onto something...

Try Port Salut after your Edam. Creamy, tasty without being overpowering!

I live in a bog. I can't find cheese around here! More Gouda. Smoked this time!

Family pack size of roasted garlic hummus. This is getting out of hand.

And flowers! I'll plant them tomorrow; gorgeous colors, I'll put them in planters and around the herb beds around patio.

I checked out Harry Hole; what a name. I think I'm going for it. . .

Harry Hole??

-snicker-

That must be a pen name.

No parent would give their child that handle....would they??

My 12 year old boy was looking over my shoulder as I was searching out Amazon for Jo Nesbo's books, with the character Harry Hole. He snickered, too. . .lol!

I need to start rewarding myself on a daily basis :)  Im actually trying to hold out, my big reward is my sisters wedding in Vegas and awesome boots for Alaska wear.  I have found I spend more money on food for myself that is healthy and different.

That's me too Melody. I spend a lot of money on food. I have been trying to eat healthier and a lot of healthy food is quite expensive! I tend to spend more on food than anything else. But it's worth it, I think. :)

Bought other people treats today with my quit smoking money.

Bought the hubby a new music book (slightly motivated by a selfish desire for him to learn some of the songs in the book I picked)

Bought the 16yr old a book she wanted. White Oleander by Janet Fitch. I've read it.....good book.

Bought the 24yr old boomerang child an iTunes card. Her iPod hasn't been updated in eons.

And....bought the wee little man a cool hat. It's a mini fedora! Who could resist that?!

Felt good to come home with stuff for others. :)

Pictures of the fedora, please!

I had somebody besides myself trim my hair today. She talked a lot about "products," Which "products" did I use at home, etc. For the life of me, it took me a couple of minutes to translate! My answer of "cheap hairspray" didn't seem to satisfy her.  I get this done generally once a year, with me snipping away at what is in my eyes. Usually results in hair stylists looking askance at their coworkers when they think I'm not looking. lol! I enjoy that almost more than the hair cut.

Here ya go Aine. :)

(I have far too much time on my hands. Poor wee baby is packed into my hubby's suit) What a riot that was!

Having the hair "twerp" as I am calling her now professionally color my hair Friday. Never had this done before; just another version of red, my natural color, but still. Wash that gray right out of my hair! This is my "big" treat for the month.

Smoked oysters in a tin for a dollar a tin is my treat for today. Love those things.

Made eggrolls and sesame noodles with sweet red peppers and sautéed mushrooms for supper tonight. Time consuming but yummy! That is my treat for today.
