Aine, what genre of books do you like?

And for cheese suggestions, see Colleen or I.

We are addicts. And have no intentions of giving it up.

So, first time trying gouda, then Havarti.

How about Edam?

Alright: Edam is up next!

Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series I've just finished. I like this genre, but very difficult to find good writers that don't end up in goop and sap and kissy poo.

Stephen King, of course.

Lee Childs

Stiegg Larson

Carol O'Connor

Anne Rice prior to conversion

These are a few of my favorite authors; I like several genres, really . .

Ok.

Youve given me a task.....I want to find a good suggestion or two with no goop or sap or kissy poo. :)

I think my problem is...I cannot stop rewarding myself.

I seem to have replaced smoking with shopping online for great deals.  So many useless things and gadgets and gear that I wanna buy.  As I'm typing this, I'm checking out helmets and leather jackets I do not need.  Arrrghhh, make the voices stop!!!

I haven't exactly been rewarding myself with the thought that those things are my reward for not smoking, but I'm becoming increasingly nicer to myself, lol. I try out new healthy meals, shop for all kinds of things that kind of seemed almost pointless as a smoker - like organic hand lotions etc. Clothes, books, things for home. Oh and hobbies, since now I don't have the giant obstacle- smoking, standing in my way anymore. One could say I'm rediscovering life :D And turning into a shopping addict, lol. My Amazon wishlist is getting bigger and bigger and I don't dare to go on sites like Etsy and modcloth anymore :D

Aine -

Jo Nesbo sounds right up your street for books.

Cheese...well now we are onto something...

Try Port Salut after your Edam. Creamy, tasty without being overpowering!

Aine....you sound like you've turned a corner you know. Good to read.

Hope you findvthe books you fancy and lose yourself in them. :)

Hi Aine, if you liked the mercy series you should try Kelley Armstrong, the otherworld series, absolutely stunning writer, was devastated to finish every book lol.

Don't treat yourself to a bikini wax, that was a silly move in the "treat" plan as it hurts lol.

Marti......you'll view it as a treat when you see how long it lasts! Way better than shaving or creams. :)

I have been buying books lately and jigsaw puzzles. Since I'm at home right now, I like keeping myself occupied. Otherwise, I'll go crazy!

I bought an AC/DC puzzle the other day for like $5, a couple of books for $4.99 each, and some stationary.

It has been SO long since I read them...  I remember Elena, Clay, Jeremy... Paige.  The vampire, I can't rememer her name - Eve? (maybe that was someone else) and the psychic someone Vegas?  Oh, now I have to read them again!  Love the second book (stolen?) that was my fave ;)

Eve was the mother whose now an angel, formerly a black witch with the daughter savannah...was the vampire cassandra or is that a different book series lol, that's right along my type of genre, love the weird and wonderful generally ;)

Today's reward:

I put my fancy schmancy rubber boots on and cleaned up the backyard. Took yard waste to the compost center. Then went to a local, family owned hot-dog joint that hasn't changed since it opened in 1950. Treated myself to a footlong hotdog and French fries. Ate it in the truck because it's kinda like an old school A&W without the waitresses. :)

Sun was shining, window rolled down, Bob Seger blaring in the cd player, and coca-cola from a glass bottle.

Today it felt like: "Ahhhh. This is the life!"

Simply change the word 'boots' to 'underwear' and you have a whole different story. And treating yourself to a footlong hotdog takes on a whole new meaning... I appreciate I should probably seek help.

Lmao @ Rob.

I did a bit of shopping yesterday. Treated myself to some headbands and a cheap necklace. Also bought myself lunch. I had a good date with me. :P
