I quit a week and a day ago. The physical discomfort, that void within, starving for nicotine, is barely a whisper on the wind. I'm feeling healthier. I'm jogging, my lungs are pumping easier. It's a good place to be.

I feel the romantic nostalgia for nicotine growing, but my defenses of common sense and dreams are holding steadfast.

I wish you, however far you've come, to feel pride in yourself for making it this far.

Good job @Pilgrim

I like how you're focusing on the positive things you see even this early into your quit. Keep focused on the positives you see and don't let those nostalgic thoughts of nicotine steer you in the wrong direction. Those thoughts will grow weaker and less frequent the longer you remain quit. That I promise you👍

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
