Hi ammj--

Welcome, friend--we know you can do it!  Something that helped me was exercise--it helped manage excess anxiety and gave me something positive and proactive on which to focus, instead of just the thing I was ostensibly denying myself.  Nicotine gum for a few months also helped.

Hang in there!

Welcome @ammj! So glad you have decided to quit and to connect here for support.

The first few days are rugged, but freedom and peace await you on the other side of the withdrawal.

You can do this, and we’re here to help. Let us know how you fare and share the challenges that arise for you. Let’s make this your last quit!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
