Popped in to say Hi to all you fine folks.... Hope everyone is doing good. I have been off work for a week{ I shoulda been checking in here more often then} trying to alleviate some foot pain... I am battling plantar fasciitis AND Xrays showed some bone spurs that are currently stretching/shredding some tendons HURTS LIKE H{yaaaaa that!}.. Has anyone ever had this? I see a foot doctor on Oct 8 to figure out a different plan then I am already doing from my reg physician{ the frozen water bottle, tennis ball rolling under my foot, stretches, etc} not fun. I got no time for this.... and with a job I am on my feet all night... makes me wonder if I need a different job :(

Have a good week everyone.... I will try to pop in more, I know I say that, and Im  not good at doing it... sorry :(  I am glad to see many newer people here with great quits going.... keep on pushing.....it's so worth it....

6 years and almost 5 months freedom for me... time flies...

Hi Cher, I noticed you were 'online' and was hoping that you would post ;)

Sorry to hear about your foot, but love seeing your smile and your quit here :)

Get better soon, and I will hold you to that 'visiting more often' thing you just said :p

Hey HM! So happy to see you. :) Sorry you are in pain though. My mom had a bone spur on her heel and I have one of the top of my foot. The only time mine bothers me is if my shoe really rubs, so I'm thankful for that. However, I saw my mom go through the pain of a bone spur on her heel and it was awful. :( She was always in pain with it. Hope you feel better soon!

Hey Cher....how was racing season?...I figure its about over, thats why you are finding a bit more time these days..lol..

I went through something similar with my feet...they would really hurt like hell in the morning...well, they would hurt all day, but REALLY hurt in the morning...

in a nut shell

I have "semi flat feet"..it seems everything is good until I put weight on them, then the arch flattens right out...stretching the plantar fascia tendon...after working (on my feet) all day, it would be really stretched, and then when I slept at night, it would "tighten" back up...of course it would be aggravated and inflamed also....in the morning , the first weight I put on it was excruciating ...and would take me a good 1/2 hour of hobbling around before i could "kinda" walk...I went to a foot Dr and he is the one who told me what he thought the problem was...I have inserts in my shoes now...it has helped 100%...He wanted to prescribe inserts that are custom made for me..and would last 6months to a year..at a cost of about $300.00..depending on how much I abused them...or he told me i could go to a shoe store and get ones that cost about $50.00 ...they are not quite as good (dont offer the same degree of support)...and they wear out faster.....well...i buy the $50.00 ones every couple months, and I put them in the shoes I wear the most, then put the ones I took out in my next pair of shoes I wear and so on(the shoes I mow the lawn in has the most worn out inserts in them..lol)....now all my shoes ave an insert in it, and even the most worn out ones offer support and my feet have never felt better..

I hope you find some relief...sore feet sucks!...makes anything you do almost impossible  :(

Sarge had plantar fasciitis back in 2012(right side only). Five of the shitiest months in recent memory.

He feels your pain.

Nothing worked but time. Waited it out and it went away ... but took almost half a year.

Easy Peasy

Yes Joe.... racing season for us is done.... 3rd championship in a row for our Open Wheel Modified... Our drivers sons' 3 of them ages 11,8,6  ALL won their championships too in their Kart racing.... crazy party this Saturday for them all! Very proud!!!!

Yes,,,, first thing in the morning.... PAIN IS HORRENDOUS... I dont wish this on anyone... I have a feeling this bone spur is on the middle of my heel....might be more then 1, I am not totally sure due to the fact the Dr said I had " spurring" and a big mess going on in my right foot..... its just that side, my left foot is fine, and thats the one that has had major reconstruction done years ago{ went down a flight of stairs carrying a bed headboard :(  } I have $60 Red Wing Orthopaedic inserts in my $$$$ shoes. Hubby bought me 3 pairs so I have them in all the shoes I wear the most...Im just done with this damn pain... i hate complaining.... but this royally sucks! Thanks for all your thoughts guys.. I hope for better news in the next few weeks!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
