I'm one of those people that do not like to quit things that are bad for me. It helps to know this because then I can force myself to do things that I know will help me even though I may not want to do them at the time. Quitting smoking – I've had reservations about this. Love this Aine. :D Very wise words!

I especially like the "post your picture" step. This is very true. I feel accountable not only to myself, but to everyone here. Makes commitment easier. :)

Great post Aine!

I wish everyone would try to write something...

You are paying it forward, and it will help strengthen your own quit! :)

and I encourage Newbies to add their observations and realities.

This is a beautful post Aine....because it is simple.

Quitting smoking is not complicated at all. Keep it simple, and the quit will be easy.

One of the biggest killer of quits is analysis-paralysis.

Stop smoking....and you will stop smoking !!!

It was when I got out of my own way and stopped complicating a simple process that everything changed.  Quitting and relapsing are both conscious decisions and my addiction only has the power I give it.  Stop putting cigarettes in your mouth and lighting them on fire and you become a successful quitter.  That's all there is to it.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
