All I can say is that I am back after a short stint of insanity puffing on a few cigars. Stayed at my cabin through the holidays, which is normally my safe place but the hunting and fishing groups around my gazebo fire pit...... I succumbed to the thought well its only a cigar! Then of course well I already had one!

But I am back in my straight mind, back to reality and back on the train.

Little embarrassed but extremely happy to know I can post my NOPE!!!

Welcome back Stewbum!  Post here BEFORE the temptation takes over!  We can steer you to safety.  Not harshing you by any means :) Lord knows I didn’t quit the first, second, tenth time around!! Glad you’re back. Get it done in 2025!!! 🥳

You big dummy! I'm glad to see you back on your quit already, hopefully that'll help keep the craves minimal.  :)

I hate to hear about your relapse Stew but I am glad you are back at your quit.  It took me several attempts too but quitting is worth it.  You can do this Stew

In one of my quit attempts, I thought I could just have one. I also tried telling myself cigars were safer. I suppose it has helped me that I've more or less dropped everyone in my life who smokes. I'll still talk to them if I run into them, but I won't sit around with anyone while they're smoking. It has helped me to maintain the reality that all smoking is dangerous. Maybe make it a point to avoid it entirely, even if it means missing out on other stuff.

I must say ... I'm surprised you succumbed to the smokes again so soon after celebrating your Lido Deck Anniversary but I know it happens and I'm really happy to see you have come back to the train to take charge of your quit & your life again. The story could be a lot different had you decided to just carry on with the cigars.

My Dad was a cigar man, smoked them throughout his life, until they killed him ☠️ Don't make the same mistake Stew 🙏

I'm sorry to hear that  Stew but glad you came back!  Please stay close to us whenever you get an urge to have a smoke.  I truly believe coming on the train frequently helps with urges and going back.

Happy New Year! 😀

Gday

Well what can I say…. Sometimes you have to learn things the hard way.
Your back , that’s the main thing.

But I’m firm on this. You only get so many “get out of jail free cards” and you’ve used that one up.
It’s NOPE. First and formost

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
