Have been on the Champix for one month and quit two weeks ago. Going well so far. Am not drinking alcohol either - at least for awhile - that has always been my downfall in previous attempts.
Keeping myself busy - work, my home is really clean :), doing alot of cooking - healthy stuff so I don't gain weight, aiming for 10,000 steps a day. I set a new couple of small goals each week.
So far, so good.

Hey, welcome aboard @Ritagirl! Glad to have you as part of our quitting crew. Keeping busy is a really useful part of an early quit… my house was very clean, too. I remember one day I walked thru the whole house with a screwdriver tightening every drawer handle and cabinet hinge. I went a little nutty maybe, but hey - whatever it takes to keep our  minds and hands busy!

Even if you find that Champix helps you with the physical cravings and withdrawal symptoms, there still may be emotional or habitual hurdles to get past. Whatever arises for you, feel free to lean on us. This forum had helped a lot of people break free of smoking. We’re here for you, too.

Hello and welcome aboard!  You’ll find lots of support and motivation here.  Congratulations on taking the steps to a better and healthier you.  If you feel your quit is in jeopardy- post a SOS on the SOS thread and folks will come to help keep your precious quit in tact.  The games section here is a great way to pass the time and think about stuff other than smoking!
Again, welcome.  Glad you’re here!

Hi @Ritagirl Welcome Aboard the Quit Train, I am so glad you found us.  If you are very serious about quitting smoking, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE for Support!!!  I know it's so difficult to keep a quit when we drink!  I had that problem a lot in the beginning, but now it's definitely not as bad.  I also had problems after I ate meals, but that wasn't as bad, as if I drank.  Eventually all of these cravings will go away the longer you are quit from smoking!  👍  My advice to you, and I'm sure everyone else here will agree with me, is to come on EVERY DAY, if you can!  Don't skip more than a day or two, as it's so important, especially in the Very beginning! I truly believe staying so close to this forum, will help you a lot to quit smoking!!!  I honestly believe that, because coming on here helped me so much!  So, @Ritagirl, if you are really serious, I hope you stay with us!!  Good Luck to you!!😀👍

QG is spit on

Those who stay close have more chance of quitting

Supporting others can help your own quit become stronger .
The simple best thing to help is taking your daily pledge

For me that was a powerful tool 🐸

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
