Wine Gripe

Colleen

Recommended Posts

I bought a bottle of wine (cheap obviously) and put it in the fridge for tonight.  Opened it up tonight and it was horrible, tasted like what I think moonshine tastes like.  Never have I dumped a bottle of wine down the drain before :(   I almost felt a little guilty...

Had you just bought it?  Was it spoiled or you just hated it?  I

Funny story...friend of mine bought a case of wine (I think it had turned)... they could not drink it, but she kept trying to cook with it...kept throwing away good food after bad wine...

holy cat fish this is serious colleen

was there nothing you could do?

I hear so many sad stories of wine down the drain and it breaks my heart :(

I believe in wine first aid and a handy bottle of lemonade or sprite or 7 up can save even the nastiest of wines :)

have hope and save the poor wine :)

I have actually taken wine back if it is bad.  This has only happened twice, but I paid like 9-10 dollars.  The last time I did this, they looked at me all weird, like I was some alkie trying to score free booze.  They smelled the bottle and gave me all these crusty looks.  Then told me that people refill the bottles.  So if you are brave enough to be scrutinized, take it back next time you get a bad bottle.  :)

Come to think of it, I was a member of monthly wine club for a while, and I got a couple of bad bottles from that too.  They would give a credit, but they weren't as mean about it.  One bottle was so bad!  It was leaking and bubblying at the opening.  GROSS!  Of course, I didn't even open that bottle to try it.

Hope your next bottle was better. :)
