What makes you think it's in the right place now?

Hint: What's different this time?

Hello and welcome back!

I hope you read everything you can get your hands on. There's a lot of info on this site, so dig in.

I believe educating ourselves about this addiction is so very important in getting and staying quit.

You are not "giving" up anything at all. Just think of all you will gain once you've stopped.

Stay close to the board and if you need help, just ask.

The support here is amazing :)

Hi Laura, great to have you back with us!

A good, strong quit really needs a good, strong mindset, so it's great that you feel that you have that now.

Please, stay close to the board, and post as much as you can! We will be here to support you!!!!!!

I can not really say what is different this time to be honest with all my attempts i had a good mind set to start with im very nervous but all l can say is if I hold on to my failed attempts then what's the point it doesn't matter that I failed it matters that I get back up and try again. :-)

http://www.quittrain.com/topic/6-tobacco-smoking-documentaries/

I was watching them from my phone it should work for you. Death in the West was really good as was Sex, lies, and cigarettes. That one will make you so angry at big tobacco.

Hi Laura. Have you made a list of why you want to quit? And when you quit, why not write down how you feel each day in the beginning. I just read mine as I just celebrated one year. It will help reinforce your strength and resolve

Welcome back Laura - you can do this - stick close and remember we are here for support if you need it !

+1

Also I found that Allen Carr gave me a much needed shoe in the pants to make me really understand why I just plain didn't need to smoke to be happy.

Hi Laura, welcome back on board, I too fell off the quit train after a 7 month quit, I dusted myself off took all the butt kicks it needed to get me back and hey am almost 2 weeks again, all I can say is learn from what happened in your relapse, do not fear the quit, but embrace any craves you get, they will make you stronger, stronger in your mind to fight them, the addiction will come calling but you have to be strong enough to not look back at what you thought was good but look forward to a much better and healthier life, you can and you will do this xxx

Thanks guys - well day one and finding not to bad I have not stop thinking about smoking today but I will get through it x

Hey Laura, I was thinking about cigarettes CONSTANTLY at the beginning... I just chose not to act on it... It does get easier, and easier. You can do this, I just know it!

Maybe you can get a ticker, add a profile picture, and really get in the swing of posting regularly - it really does help!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
