After all other fresh veggies added

So do you add vegetables at the beginning of cooking to flavor the stew and then add more vegetables at the end of the cooking period? I never heard of doing that. Sounds smart.

I brown the meat first coated with flour - then I add the broth and water onions, paprika, black pepper and 3 or 4 bullion cubes - and let that simmer for about 1 hour or so - then I add in the potatoes and celery because they take longer to cook - at that point I add 2 bay leaves and season a little bit more to taste - after about another hour I do add the frozen mixed veggies and frozen stew veggies - after an hour I add in fresh carrots and fresh green beans.  over all I cook the stew for about 7 or 8 hours before I have any so the flavors are better.

Oh my! That looks fantastic Tom. I do the same thing and add veggies in stages. It looks like you have just about every veggie in there yum!

I really like the way you do that, Tom. Thanks for the tip! I'm going to try that the next time I make stew (which I guarantee will be soon!)

My pleasure - always happy to share - hope it comes out the way you like it.

That stew looks amazing Tom!

The pita pizzas were yummy. :) I'm not too fond of a lot of crust, so pitas work best for me.

I made stuffed bell peppers tonight. These are substantial. I feel so full after one.

Omg Scott, that looks amazing!

This was dinner last night. Steve had pasta with his, but I opted out and ate more veggies:

Lunch today. Really tasty and spicy. Chicken, green peppers, mushrooms, couscous, and a bunch of seasonings.

I didn't cook this. I'm not that talented. We decided to eat at a restaurant because we basically have nothing groceries wise. I ordered the steak salad, which was delicious and only 610 calories. Paired it with two cups of coffee and water with lime.

Oh and hubby finished off the last 1/3 that I couldn't do !

O-o-o-o, that looks delicious, Pippa! What is "black vinegar"? Sounds interesting.

Black vinegar is a Chinese vinegar - probably best described as like a lighter version of balsamic ?

Today we did our weekly visit to the farmers market ... Found some wonderful marinated Moroccan chicken - served it up with eggplant and tomato lentils .... Tasted better than it looks :-)

I made stuffed green peppers yesterday for dinner. No rice this time. Just ground beef and lots of veggies. A little bit of cheese on top as well:

A few nights ago, this is what Steve ate for dinner. That's the skinny bugger in the background. He made a homemade panzerotti and it was about 2500 calories. He doesn't have to count calories though. He will never get big. He eats whatever he wants and stays at 170. In the three years we've been together, he's gained 30 pounds. Wow... 10 pounds a year. Nope, not envious at all...
