Awwwwwww hon... I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you. I know how hard it is. We just lost our 13 yr old pup a little over a month ago:( it's sad.. They wrap themselves around us and our hearts so tight.. I want you to know you are in my thoughts.. We can get better together. Hugs and love.. One day at a time.

Sorry to hear this news Nancy. My best friend just had to put down her 11 year old yellow lab (Abbey) the other day.  Such sadness.  It's always difficult when we lose those little puffs of fur that love us so unconditionally.

Just read this. Losing a pet like this is one of the toughest things in life. It's a shame they do not have longer life span, it really is.

Deepest sympathies and you can take pride that you gave Skyelar an awesome 15 1/2 years.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
