Hi everyone!

I was looking back at my original post from May of last year, and it's really amazing how far I have come since that first post that I made, where I was still smoking 2 cigs a day using the weaning method.  OMG, I remember how horrible I felt, in a constant state of perpetual withdrawal all day and night!  It was so horrible.  Finally after a couple days several of you told me to give it up, I just let go and went cold turkey, I think 2 days later.  Plus, all the meltdowns I had where I really couldn't handle it anymore and I was treating my family like crap.  You all helped me so much!!!  😍 Wow, it all seems like ages ago!!  I really have come a long way, thanks to all of you!!!💗 The friendship and support you all gave ME, a total stranger, was mind boggling!  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! 💗 I truly couldn't have made it without all of you!😍😁  I was reading a post that I made from very early in my quit and I wrote how one of the withdrawal symptoms was like a feeling on my tongue...LOL!!  It wasn't a pain, just an annoying feeling. I can look back now and laugh at that, but at the time it was just horrible, plus I had a horrible sense of doom.  I definitely will not go back to smoking, not only because is it bad for us, BUT, who the hell wants to get those withdrawal symptoms again!! Not me!! I have enough aches and pains in my life...LOL!!!🤣

Anyway, thank you all so much again for being here for me!

Love,

Sandi💗

Yes, great post Q.G.! It encapsulates what we've all felt after we joined this site.

Actually, that's why I choose the screen name I did. The definition of Reciprocity is: "The practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit." which is what I figured this place would be all about.

When we first arrive all scatter-brained in the early days of our quit we receive help from those that went before us and once our quits are more secure, we then pay it forward by helping others who have just quit and are trying to find their way. It really is the perfect scenario and is what makes this place so special!

I can relate to what you wrote, Sandi.  This Train saved my own quit many times. So grateful for all the wise, quirky, funny and real / honest people on the Train… including you!!

You are living proof that quitting is tough but possible. And worth fighting for.

“Who the hell wants to get those withdrawal symptoms again…?”  Amen to that, sister!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
