Looks like I'm out of the woods. Had a non-reaction to the anticlot medication so the stent reclogged and I had to go through the whole thing all over again 4 days later. This time during prep for the cath insertion the heart went bazzoo and out came the jumper cables. MAN, THAT HURTS! Had to zap me three times.

Now, I've been in some "spots" in my less than monkish life but I think that counted as close to dead as I've gotten.

Newbs - I smoked heavy for 40 years since I was a kid. I'm alive. Quitting was worth it. And if you haven't been smoking that long well, I wish now that I hadn't either. You don't want the jumper cables... :-D

OMG, Comrad, I'm so sorry that you had to endure all that! I didn't know that someone could be a "non-responder" to anti-clotting medication. I guess that's a good thing to know.  :(

You must be one tough dude to go through all that and come out swinging. Take care of yourself, you hear? And let us know when you're home shuffling back and forth to the refrigerator again.

I hope you have better luck with Plavix or whatever they used on you & what you may be on for a few yrs. Sooooooo sorry you had to go thru another stent placement & the jumper cable thing would be so scary.
