So, I have been doing pretty well in my quit. After hell week, my biggest triggers were in the car, after a meal, and on Saturdays. Well, I drive about an hour one way to school. Today was the first day I didn't have to chew sunflower seeds the enitre way just to fill the void of not smoking. As a matter of fact, I didn't chew any at all and I was ok with that. This, so far, has been one of the easiest days so far. I hope this is a sign it is getting easier. Sometimes I fell like I am in a constant battle even though I don't really want to smoke.

Good for you! You met your challenges/ triggers early on and now they are becoming easier for you!

Isn't that a great feeling?

The days are getting better. You may still have a few rough ones thrown in there though. This addiction does not want to give up on us that easily.

But- now you have the tools to work with!

Keep going, I think you are doing great!

btw I started feeling so much more comfortable at around 3 weeks.

it is indeed a tryumph... or whatever the spelling indeed...

Identifying triggers early on is so wise of you! Well done on kicking them from day one!

If you don´t want to smoke, the battle is won. So concentrate on that.

You are doing fantastically well!

How wonderful for you.  You know my quit wasnt easy at all I had to completely fight for it then I remember going on a long car trip (which I take often for work) in April and all of a sudden I relised I hadn't even thought of smoking on it and itd been like 9 hrs driving at that point. I was so happy cause for awhile I thought it'd never be over the constantly thinking of it. I'm happy for you and thank you for sharing.

This is just great to see - I'm glad you are having a good day!

It's true that it gets easier and easier, until one day, you don't even have a single thought of smoking! I know it's sounds like it went happen, but it will. You're going to make it, for sure :)

Use the money you've saved to get your car professionally cleaned.  Then the nice smell will remind you how glad you are that you quit.

To this day my biggest trigger is in the car. I don't know why except that I guess I have always smoked while driving since I was 16. I was chewing alot of gum in the car and now I play on my phone and send texts which I would not recommend! :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
