I wonder if we post the site on facebook if google will pick the site up?

Yep. Search for the site. Mention the site - google will detect all of that.

I am guessing that MQ is working on this - but things that we can do to help:

1. Google relevant phrases, and then connect to the site - you may need to go through several pages to get to this - its new!

2. Share and like on social media - FB, Twitter, anything - we are trying to create 'buzz'

3. Keep posting, tagging and 'exercising'

All of these things will help with the ranking with Google. Faster than you might think!

That would work - but also Stop smoking, help stop smoking....Google measures what people click when searching - so if they notice that people who want to find 'stop smoking support' are looking for quit train - the quit train starts going up the list...its not all cause and effect - but you get the general idea.

Sorry - I meant exercising the site...

Google measures how long people spend on a site - and where they go. So - just doing what we do, going through multiple posts and threads will increase the google rating.

I was able to find it on Google on the 3rd page.  Actually, the second page had a link to the blog page.  On Bing?  Couldn't find it at all.

Second page is good. This will all naturally improve - as traffic hits the site. Helping it along just means that people needing support can get here quicker.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
