Best Compliments You Have Received????

Recommended Posts

So, Facebook is doing all these dumb quizzes all the time.  One of the most current I have seen is "Which Greek Goddess are You?"  http://quizsocial.com/which-greek-goddess-are-you/

These are so dumb, cuz you can totally manipulate the answers, but anyways......

This brought me to my question, which is, "What are the best compliments you have ever receive?"  I have gotten 5 that will stay in the "will never forget" category of my brain - forever. :)

The first was a boyfriend in college who said to me, "My God.  You're like Aphrodite."  I'll never ever ever ever forget that moment in time.  :)  Ever.  :)  He probably said that to all the girls, but ... whatever, it worked for me.  lol :)

The second was, "You look like a picture."

The fourth was, "Well, she's just an athlete."  This was said about a year and a half ago, not to me directly, but the person who said it was talking about me to another person while I was standing right there.  It was in reference to the fact that while I don't play volleyball, I was able to help coach a younger team.  It was round-about, but I LOVED being referred to as an "athlete."

The fifth is like an ongoing one from my husband who may not have all the perfect words, but he loves me - warts and all. :)

Okay - your turn.....

What is/are the best compliment(s) you have received????

Petra, you didn't tell is what compliment number 3 was... ;)

I don't really get compliments, but the other week at a wedding, people were telling me that they liked my new beard :) (that's a compliment, right?)

The only other one I can think of issue thing Tasha tells me sometimes, but that ones a secret :p

Oh, and someone told me they thought I looked 28 the other day, that was pretty sweet :)

I can totally see what you ladies get the compliments that you do ;)

A friend of my mum´s used to say that when the world comes to an end by nuclear holocaust or similar there will survive the cockroaches, the rats, and Susana.

Which says a lot of my resilience and determination.

Usually my hair gets most positive attention. The one on top of my head, that is :laugh2:

Come on now Doreen, Susana's comment is way 'smuttier' than mine, lol

Don't know about "best", but certainly funniest.

Climbing up the face of Devil's Tower in Wyoming last year (700 ft vertical climb) and some random drunk tourist pointed to Sarge and said "He's got more balls than me to do that ..."

Well ... No.

Actually he doesn't.

For those that don't get it: Look at Sarge's current profile pic and think about it real hard ...

"...are you going to eat all of it?"

Followed shortly by: " I can't believe I ate the whole thing ..."

Well, Petra, you've got everyone's minds in the gutter now.

But that is a great compliment you got, and with your hair I can totally see it <3

The other day a coworker told me I'm the skinniest person he knows. Which I used to be skinny, but now I have been trying to lose 7 lbs for I don't know how long.

Aww an ex told me years later it was always you for me growing up, I'll just tell you once more how much I love you and always will. It matters as he was killed a couple of years later and I'm so pleased on line gave a chance to catch up as he had moved to Canada :)

Chris always opens a text to me with "hey beautiful" and it always melts me.  He also says he "fancies the ass off me" which is not cute lol, but he knows I panic and need re-assurance that I look ok and that's why he does it.  He's a pretty smart guy :)

I was told I have a beautiful soul on here - I think that beats all previous compliments, I did the biggest smile when I saw that.

I want to add a compliment of my own to the mix.... I love how each and every one here can make me smile and feel supported. xx
