I'm very English, we do tea but I also like coffee, you know the whole Europe "be cosmopolitan" thing :) So I would do tea in the morning and coffee in the avo, perfect! Then I quit and spent a couple of months bouncing off the walls lol.  Transpires 20 cups a day is not ok.  Fine I thought, I can drink those crazy teas.

I was assured Green Tea was an acquired taste and I would come to love it... love no less, lofty claims but I tried.  It's supposedly very good for you too so a double win I believed. Tastes utterly rank so tried it with Lemon...not as rank but not really palatable.

3 months of my life is wasted of drinking this tripe every day now trying to acquire the taste and I think it's time to do a Frozen and just let it go. I need help with tea that is good for you... not normal tea, I have this covered :)

So I don't like the mixed ones which seem to have a bit of everything in it.  Plus I don't trust them really, why call a tea "detox"...what, like, even if I eat a burger straight after?? I tried a couple and they were super potent! Anything with liquorice or aniseed in were also too strong even though I like those things.

I do actually quite like Blueberry Tea the best so far (weird, don't like actual blueberries) and a Lemon and Lime one. What other plain ish or just straightforward flavours have people tried and liked?  My caffeine levels are still far too high but I love hot drinks (also drink plain water).

Sorry, long!

Ideas?

I drink about 5 - 6 cups of raspberry tea every day, yummy :)

Where the heck can you get blueberry tea... Sounds amazing!!

Used to drink a lot of peppermint tea too, until I found the raspberry stuff. Think I'm going to go have a cup now ;)

EDIT, just to clarify, that is Raspberry Herbal Tea (I don't know if the herbal bit makes a difference or not)

Action Holland and Barrett do a London range and it's mixed tea bags, blueberry came in that...think it has raspberry in actually so I will try it in a minute. No to peppermint, lovely taste but makes me tired...I actually drink it and recommend to others when insomnia strikes :)

Tracey I have decided not to drink tripe anymore. I'm all for a bit of fixing up but it's really nasty to actually drink the rank stuff.  Have rosemary in the garden so will have a go at that this avo, thanks.  I make remedies with the herbs and they always taste a bit interesting so not sure how the tea will fare lol. But hey, it's right outside my back door so I'm willing to try.

You're very right. Plain green tea is vile. I am surprised that you wasted three months on it, it really is horrible! Lmao on Frozen reference b/c guess what the 3 year old has me watching right this minute... again... for the eleventy-millionth time....

Some of those detox teas are killers... like running to the bathroom killers... or they taste like grotesque nightmares (hint: the way that you're system is cleaned is because you cant stop vomiting)...

I do like raspberry tea. I was recently watching Dr. Oz (it wasn't on purpose) and he was raving about ginger tea being the best stuff in the universe. There was even a lady taking a sip on stage and basically saying "Oh nom nom nom" this is good! So my naive butt was at the store recently and I picked up a box of ginger tea.  I was so excited!!! I made a cup that evening and settled in to knit and watch some of my secret shame shows. I took a sip... nope_zpsb2376e8e.gif

Then again everyone's tastes are different... might be just me... ;)

Mmmm we get the yummiest green mint tea here .... absolutely to die for ,,, now if someone could get me dairy free ice cream ,,, life would be perfect !

Lmao Missy DD, you crack me up.  Ok, I shall more hesitantly try ginger tea, small sips - just in cases!!  Frozen is getting beyond a joke here too. I find myself thinking things like I don't even f ing like snow!  I'm now considering buying my Mum a DVD player for her lounge next door. She gets bored and they could keep her company....

Pippa - Mint makes it taste better?  I have mint in the garden...are you sure sure??  Is this like the person who told me it was an acquired taste?  I have much love for you but I am already a tad bitter...shouldn't mess with an English girl where tea is concerned lol.

Action Raspberry brewing, will report back. Having dug out the box it's called Fruit Fantasy Selection by London Fruit & Herb Company. I actually laugh/snorted accidently reading that...who thinks up the names... There's no fantasy here, I'm having a cuppa waiting for me shopping to arrive...

I love ginger tea. You should definitely try it. DD is right though... I'm sure it's an acquired taste. Ginger and lemon is pretty yummy.

I'm also a fan of this. It has all kinds of interesting spices in it.

I try, I try. This kid walks around waving her hands around like she is freezing things and making ice castles. The movie was cute the first 2-3 times but seriously eleventy-million is one time too many.

I even tricked my husband into tasting it... he looked at me like I stomped on his hopes and dreams he will never again taste anything that I hand him, trust broken. So yes, be wary.  I even bought ...at the store because we have to leave the house to get our groceries.... the more expensive brand because ...Dr Oz said... the quality apparently mattered. If the expensive brand tasted like rancid sweaty socks that laid out in the sun all day I wouldn't want to imagine what the cheap stuff tastes like.

You broke a man with tea - nice work. Frozen, we understand, things will never be the same again... and there's the frozen party coming in september, goody goody! But in a lucky twist of fate the entertainer booked at the time I was about to pay announced they no longer did the singalong with frozen....dear god I felt relief the likes of which I never have before. Magician now booked :)

Raspberry tea is a win peoples...Happy times :)

Sorry about showing off but my shopping genuinely just got delivered :)

Not cool Marti, not cool. Telling me that your shopping is at your door while I am getting ready to get the kid in the car and brave the mean streets of Savannah.

Was the entertainer charging you ungodly amounts of money to sing?

Lol.  I NEED tea more then I need coffee tho. An I can't drink coffee in the morning, it's all too much.

So I wake and I've done 4/5 cups of tea in an hour before I really notice the world and realize that's a bit much. Mornings are not my thing.

Win on the 0 calories, and glad that you liked the taste too :)

I am redoing my garden, and underneath all the weeds, I found a raspberry bush... Well, it's not a 'bush' really, more like a stalk; it has 2 raspberrys on it.  I think I am going to have to nuture it a bit to be able to make my own Raspberry tea ;)

Being an American, I myself have a love affair with coffee.  I have had to cut my intake of caffeine since I quit smoking, but still drinking it nonetheless.  I do, however, fancy a cup of tea when the weather turns chilly or cold.  I do like the fruit flavored teas; I love Oolong Tea (Chinese), and I haven't really done the whole green tea thing.  One of my favorite teas was always Bigelow's Constant Comment, which is a mix of Orange and Black Tea.  Very yummy.

Peppermint tea yuk.  I tried peppermint tea when I was having great difficulty with my digestion a while back.  Couldn't stomach it.  Peppermint is said to calm down tremors or spasms in the digestive system.  If I could get it past my tastebuds, no problem.  It was way too strong for me.  Ginger tea is good too, but again have to watch the strength at which you are making it.  A little honey or lemon in there doesn't hurt.

I also mix my regular caffeine coffee with decaf coffee.  About a 25/75 percent ratio.  Still gives me that little bit of caffeine my body craves, but doesn't send me bouncing.  :)

Oh, and just as a side note, I read that many people who want to stop drinking coffee will begin using Dandelion Root tea.  Supposedly it has a flavor similar to coffee.  I bought some but haven't tried it yet.  I do take Dandelion Root capsules to help with diabetes, but haven't done the tea yet.
