i did all that stuff you guys mention....for 27 years in a row!!  I played the role of both the mother and many times, the father too (sports, activities, coaching sports in had no business coaching) 

 

 I'm done now....  :)

 

and I love it

I have great memories of my kids growing up and I can say I really never took it for granted..always appreciated that some day they will grow up and move out and my house will be quiet.  Maybe that's why I am handling this empty nest thing well.  I have the memories....I don't need them in real time.  It's time to make new memories now  :)

I'm 42 and my daughter will be starting Kindergarten this month.  On one hand I'm happy but on the other hand, not so much.  It's the first step for her into this big old world and all of the unknowns

Lol. Marti. Probably more than likely because I had 2 kids by the time I reached 20

My friends were off at college having fun and I was busy changing diapers, going to school and scraping money up for rent.

It was never "my time".

So, now it is.

 

I never wanted to be that parent that waits around for their kids to call or drop in. I want my kids calling me saying. "Mom...are you free Saturday?" Lol. I love my kids but while they are off living their lives..I plan to do the same.

That just makes the time we do spend together that much more precious and appreciated.

I can't be sure but I think someone was probably removing me from a ditch or something at 20 :)  But it's Chrispy's post so I'll walk away chuckling about my former years :)

I feel like wrapping myself up in a blanket today... eating bon bons and watching Beaches.

 

Just jokin... and Bakon... I eat people like you for breakfast :o Folks who try to act too manly are usually the ones that are the biggest p*ssies.  Just like the dudes that always talk about having the biggest willies... usually look like scared turtles... ya hurd?

 

Marti...I tell the familly that I have been reduced to 4 functions in life...

 

1.  I carry stuff

2.  I wait (wait on kids ...wait on wife)... I wait alot

3.  I fix the broken shit

4.  I drive... I drive everyone everywhere.

 

Keep on keepin on.

I feel cheated.  My husband only does 1 & 4 and not even very well!

Why is it men always talk about how big thier tackle is.....pleaz.......

Sounds like a kid thing.....mines bigger than yours......

Do we woman have to walk around with a tape measure to prove its true or not.....just askin.....

Actually I should have said mine is smaller than yours, isn't that the way it is with us women, everyone wants to be slimmer than the rest lol

Good Morning/Afternoon all.  Well... the boy is off to his first day in high school.  I am alittle distraught... but not as bad as I thought I would be.  He was nervous... so maybe I had to keep my cool for him.

 

It is all good now....  the next phase is underway.
