Complain too much

Usually in any setting I can find something that I dislike or irritates me. I can keep my mouth shut 50 percent of time an working on that flaw. Like to start a thread on manners or fixes to problems we encounter everyday but don't know what to say.

Example. Bad or loud kids in restraunts. I am paying for a meal an your kid screaming or banging silverware is not cute.

Current one is a smoker in waiting room stinking the place up.

Wonder if they knew how bad it smells I they would quit more often or not have that last one before comin inside. I like to think I would have. I always smoked outside an never in wife's car. Always changed clothes when going anywhere to get cleaned up and smelling better.

Not a thread to be rude, but how do you tell a stranger they stink? Or their kid is acting like an animal

Well over here - all very straightforward old chap...

"I say. Boisterous little chap isn't he? Have you thought about sending him to the colonies?"

"What Ho! - someone smells like a thousand fag butts. Awful reek what?"

I think in the US you shoot them, or throw them into Boston Harbour?

Or how about people chewing gum? Your 50 years old and yaking and jawing on it like it's your first piece of gum ever. Do you know I don't want to see it so don't blow a bubble while talking to me. Also you look like your talking with food in your mouth from the side when I CANT see it so that's no better.

Gum is for 13 and under an only till they choke on it. Once you choke on it, you know the feeling of my hands around your throat later in life when you give me the finger in traffic. So you know what to expect. That is the only thing gum should be for. A lesson.

It sticks to shoes, clothes. Carpet. Nothing good about it other than choking lesson.

Children I have no idea, they rarely bother me (it's grown ups I don't like, kids are normally ok).

Re smokers tell them! This morning I'm getting cash out of the machine and suddenly I'm surrounded by smoke - so I simply turned and said some personal space away from your smoke would be great thanks. He stepped back (not far enough but better).

I think we try and repress too much generally.  Maybe you could ask to move table further away from the noisy family next time?

So back to complaining...I also despise chewing gum.  And will someone please tell me what is up with people talking on their cell phones is a public restroom?  In what world could that possibly be okay?

Bad kids in restaurants...

I actually say something... then again I am a b***h. My kids know how to behave in public and in a restaurant and they know better than to act an ass. When they were noobs if they started crying I would first take them out to calm them and if I couldn't I would ask for my bill and to go boxes. I don't think that it is right for my kids to ruin other people's meals... Just me.

I have commented on how bad the smoker smell is and I actually wish that someone would have said something to me. Although I do it politely.

I was in line at the store one day and this guy behind me was on the phone and was talking so loud I could not hear the cashier tell me my total...the cashier apologized and repeated the total I said equally loudly it is ok it is not your fault whilst glaring at the idiot behind me.....I do NOT want to hear your convo on the phone while in line wait the 5 minutes until you get through the line for gods sake.

I get that kids can act up, it happens.  What annoys me to no end, are the parents that do not even attempt to correct their kids.  You know the ones whose kids scream the entire time they are in the store and the parents pretend they can't hear them.  Them.  At least make an effort...Sheesh.

^^this I get that kids misbehave also at times but at least make an effort to correct them and if they do not stop then it is time to go home and come back at a different time or at least leave the store/restaurant and sit in car until they stop or calm down I am talking about the screamers and why are they always loud

Right and what exactly are they teaching their kids that disrupting an entire store is alright?  If you can't calm your child down in a couple of minutes, the shopping can wait.

I love kids.

Not entirely sure that I could eat a whole one..but would be willing to give it a go.

I get the impression that other people's kids are always a pain...whereas your own are just 'expressing themselves'

The exception appears to be Grandchildren...from what I can gather, most people seem to believe that if they had known how nice grandchildren are, they would have had those first....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
