I'm around 9 hours into my quit and am starting to feel some of the withdrawal symptoms, like foggy headedness.  When I quit last time I told another forum member that I felt stoned when I was withdrawing.  He told me to enjoy it.  I've decided I can't fight it so I might as well enjoy it.  Considering I don't take drugs, I guess this will be the only time I will get to enjoy feeling wasted.   I am trying to see the positive in everything.  :)

Hello and welcome - not really sure why anyone would say enjoy your first week .... Personally I spent as much time as I could trying to avoid hell week ! I was in the gym , eating licorice - anything except smoking - diversion is all I concentrated on! My take - forget enjoying - just remember NOPE - read what you can and stay close - we are here to support you ...promise M

Thanks Pippa.  I don't feel like I'm struggling so I don't feel like I need to create what you called "diversions".  Perhaps it's because I don't think I want to smoke anymore.  This seems to be a big change from last time I quit.  So I'm just enjoying the roller coaster.  The spaced out sort of feeling without having to run from my feelings because I'm scared I'll smoke.  Hope it stays this way.

Well done on jumping in! That is usually the hardest part, now it is all about staying afloat.

Enjoy it. Enjoy the first couple of days knowing that your body is complaining because it i addicted to the stuff and doesn´t like being cleansed, like a smelly mucky pup that bites when you direct the hose at them. Tough titty.

Enjoy it because you will only have to go through this shite this once, and that will be that.

I cant say I enjoyed it...but I certainly let it motivate me!

My take on it was, if abstaining from smoking even for a few hours was this miserable, there was NO WAY  I was going to back out of my decision to quit..

I knew that quitting...and staying quit...was the only way I would truely feel good ALL THE TIME...not just when I got my "fix"!!!

But...try to enjoy the ride..this part of it is over soon enough and then the "tracks" smooth out a bit  ;)

Roll with the punches dancer, some days you get a black eye but some days you get victory :)

Staying positive will see you to ultimate victory

Now can you really dance or are you a reindeer???

That was one of the hardest things for me to overcome was the mind fog.  My line of work doesn't allow for me to be fuzzy brained.

It will pass.  Keep riding it.  Your doing great !!

Finally someone who is on to me.  I cannot dance and yes I am a reindeer, although of course no-one believes me those days.

Trying to look at the positives is a great idea dancer :)

How are you feeling now?

Hi Action. I'm kinda feeling ok although still feeling stoned.  It will pass and it's ultimately good for my body which as much as it is a discomfort for me my body is remodelling itself so I will kind of feel brand newish when it dumps all the muck and grime out of my system.

You are evolving into a new, healthier you.  A little strange at first, but go with it.  Before you know it, you will be feeling the benefits.  In the meantime, what rewards for yourself do you have on deck?  One day, three days, one week?  All of those milestones are coming up soon!

Does not matter who said what!

Enjoy taking back control of your life!

and as a side affect you get your health back too!

Are you same dancer from old site? There was one there but don't remember anything about them.

Enjoy your quit Is good advise for you. Seems to go with the mindset you have put out here. Ready to quit is big step. If doing it for any other reason it's harder.

Nancy, I am good. Around about 45 hours in to my quit and not really craving. I am a bit teary at times but that's just the withdrawal. Thanks for asking.
