....I am in love with my cigs and I think I am going to go nuts without my smokes...

I understand completely how you feel here.  I loved mine too.  The whole time they were killing me, I remain devoted.

Your feelings will change.  The more time you give yourself from that last cigarette, they will change.  It's like a bad relationship.....

But something tells me that once you see that sweet baby born and you get to hold him, you will be so grateful that you did quit.  You will get to see him grow up. You won't have to hand him off to someone else so you can go smoke.  You won't endanger his little lungs with second hand smoke.

All you have to do is Jump.  We will catch you.

Well to me it looks like if you want to be be a loving long term Grandma then you're quit smoking. to cuddle a baby once more would be more then the kick in the butt to want to quit. Sure quitting can seem scary but the daily risk you take by smoking is scary too.

Abby,

Have you read Allen carr easy way....it does make us look at smoking In a different light....

You have had a nice 5year quit in the past....so you know you can do it.....

Your not giving up anything.....only a poision that is slowly distroying your body....to be blunt ,if I may....

My hub is on oxygen 16hours a day.....believe me if you get to this stage.....even holding your beautiful grandbaby would be difficicult...

You can do it......

We will be here for you every step of the way.....

The thing that worked for me last time was the nicotine gum...so I will probably chew the gum again with the help of Chantix...,also crocheting and chomping on ice (do not recommend ).

Hey Abby

Whichever way you choose. COMMIT.

You can absolutely do this, you have quit before.

But you are not giving anything up...you are setting yourself free.

I quit Cold Turkey...but this is all about the outcome not about the method.

Fantastic decision to quit Abby. You got this.

Please check with your doctor about using both Chantix and nicotine gum...I think it might be self defeating.  I quit using Chantix, and I had my last cigarette after I had been taking it for 13 days.  The Chantix blocks the nicotine receptors in your brain, so I don't think adding the gum is going to make you feel any better....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
