I really HAVE TO train for my 5k on Saturday. It is going to be an epic disaster, but I HAVE to train for the next 5k, and the next one and so on. I HAVE TO.

Now. I have a problem.

Here where I live it is bloody hot from 8am until 10pm. And humid.

This is it now https://www.google.es/?gws_rd=ssl#q=santa+pola+tiempo

Having failed miserably for weeks to wake up at 7 to go running... to go anywhere really... the only quality sleep time here being between 4am and 8am....

I have had dinner. I have dinner early. British style.... I was thinking....

What if I wait until the sun goes down and I go out at 10pm... or even 11pm ... it would be 2-3 hours after dinner... then straight to shower and cool into bed....

Any thoughts?

(no, no bears or wolves or any dangerous beasts around, just drunk tourists and a couple of dogging areas that I can avoid - or not-)

Well... no hurry... it´s not going to be today. I´m knackered today... beddy beddy today...

is there a quit-procrastinating-forum somewhere?

Pmsl I say ditch the running for tonight and go enjoy one of the other Activities ;)

Please don't go running in the dark on your own

Go as soon as you get up, you will be done and dusted then rather than keep thinking about doing it all the while it's getting hotter Nd hotter after  while you will be acclimatised to running in the heat just drink plenty of water and take some with you and a mobile phone

I am a mother hen when it comes to safety x

Hey - I know there are no tigers - but wouldn't want to think of running on your own after dark - is an indoor treadmill an options ??

I prefer to exercise in the morning, your metabolism will be running full speed all day if you go early.

I know, I know... that´s the idea, and it works very well any time other than July-August.... I can´t fall asleep until well after midnight because everybody is on holiday apart from me. The kids play outside and the parents stay until late drinking and talking. And it is hot and humid.

I just can´t for love nor money get up at 7am after barely sleeping 4-5 hours... it is just not possible :-(

There is a gym near work, yep... I don´t like the smell and the feel of gyms, but it could be an option, actually... :good3:

I am a severe introvert with social anxiety. I don't like crowds, or people, being in public, or people. I joined a gym (even though I don't like people) because working out at home wasn't cutting it for me anymore. I had so many spring 5k's to train for and now a bunch of fall ones and a marathon coming up too. The gym really isn't that bad and now I am breezing through the 5k's. You should look into it.

oh! I´m an extrovert!. oh! And I´m a people person!

Yep.... When I´m on my "professional-me" persona.

Give me a pony tail (or a scrunchy), take off my make up, my dress, my heels, my girdle... and  I...just...want...to...die.

At least in the forest I can run away. literally.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
