Hi Sandar!  Welcome!

Make this the quit that sticks!    You already know what relapse feels like...and it sucks.  Make that commitment every day to not take a puff...just for today.  There is nothing like freedom.  The longer you keep the commitment, the happier and more confident you become.  Learn from your relapse.  Make a list of reasons why you quit and keep it with you.  Stay close to the board.  Drink a lot of water.  Take walks.  Change your routine.

You've got this!!

Hi and thanks for the welcome!  This has to be my final quit. It seems like I have been trying to quit all summer! No more trying, this is it.

 Taking my freedom back :)

Hi Marti!

Thanks for convincing me to post here.  Doing well today on day 2 :)

I kinda trust in these guys, great news you believed me and even better you're storming through day 2!!

Every day done is a day you never have to do again :)

No need to rush, take each day as it comes. If it's a bad one, then we dig deep and post, we will carry/drag you through. If it's a good one then fab, everyone loves a win of a day and it compensates. Every day is different.

Your personality has to change, smoking was very tied in to how you managed your life, but it will be ok. Find emergency things that make you happy/get you through when you need something extra. Exercise, cleaning, singing a rousing version of your favourite song, bust some moves, click your fingers, suck air through a straw, sip water, walk....do anything else.

Vent, bitch, celebrate - all are great and I for one LOVE to hear how people are doing because it means I can pay back all the help I needed/got and reinforces my quit as a wonderful default setting :)  Those that post the good the bad and the ugly fare better in my humble opinion!

xx

Welcome and congrats on your great decision.

This quit... you are only moving forward.. .not ever backwards... backwards sucks.

make a plan for when you have the blahs...or when you feel depressed.  Write your plan done so that you can read it when you get that trigger/craving.  You know smoking will not cure anything...so why do it.

Get your bada** on and let's do this... this will be your last quit!!!

Keep on keepin on.

Hiya and congrats on quitting, don't worry we will mind ye, this will be your final sticky quit, keep reminding yourself when you get a crave how fed up of smoking you were and you decided to quit sooner because you were sick to death of smoking, that's what I do, I tell myself if I have the very odd crave there's no point giving in because I know I will be back to hating them and wanting to quit probably within a day to a week of relapsing and remind myself how much I use to dream of being able to say I was a non smoker in doctors or hospitals etc oh and my skin is looking pretty damn good so happy days,

No bother to you pet, this is your time,

Sue xx

Hi and welcome on board the quit train, I stopped smoking with champix and found it really good, you still have to work hard at the quit, there is no magic button that turns off the crave, but we are all here to help you as much as you need it, looking forward to sharing your journey xx

I'm doing great. I had a little burst of energy this morning, so I cleaned a few windows. Sometimes keeping busy helps.

Now just drinking a big glass of ice cold water to help flush out the last bit of nasty nicotine.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
