I was thinking about this the other day. I don't come here very much now as I don't need the help. I also don't have the wisdom or words of people like the Sarge or Babs to really help people.

I still feel like the newbie here but a bit of an old timer at the same time.

When I first logged on here I was always crying, I'd just left my moron boyfriend and really had no idea about anything.

Now thanks to so many people on here I have been completely smoke free for nearly 3 months and just about got a new boyf.

I don't have a point.

Thanks xxx

Sarah, you say you don't have the 'wisdom or words', but I think you do... the post you just made might be the one a newbie see's, and decideds to sign up and quit - it's very inspiring to see how far you have come, and how amazing your new smoke-free life is.

Very proud of you, and please keep in touch ;)

And CONGRATULATIONS!

From somebody who has been quit for nearly 6.5 years...

I think staying on the support forums and writing, dissecting every nuance of where you have been and supporting others is a big part of the cure. How you feel now vs then is important as a measure of how powerful your mind is.

Some leave too soon...I think you are right to encourage at least a couple of years to pay it forward. They got the help so they need to pay it forward, not everyone likes to write but everyone should tell their story after they get some time under their belts...just to look at how far they have come.

Sarah, you are just too stinkin cute.

QT needs you here and I was just getting ready to send a shout out to find out where ya been.

You have more wisdom then you realize! Don't ever underestimate that. Everone here...whether quit for hours, days, weeks, or years--has something that can help another with their struggles.

Glad to read you and see you are going strong in your quit.

Anything a person shares COULD be the one thing someone having a "shitty" day might need to read so they won't feel so alone. We are a weird family holding hands & sticking together in a common goal. Glad you're 3 months cig free & have a new honey. :)  :)

Thanks everyone. This isn't an "I'm leaving" post! Its just something that's on my mind. I wish I could express myself better and trying to explain why I'm not here as much as I used to be.

Well we've had 3 dates. He's stopped vaping and this weekend he's borrowing a car from work (lotus) to take us somewhere 'secret' !

If you don't hear from me he's a murderer!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
