So, we have The Big Green Egg.

Pros - the food we cook on it is mouth watering and juicy and has an AWESOME smokey, grilled flavor. YUUUUMMMM!!!  I have NEVER been disappointed with anything I have cooked on it.

Cons - It takes time and a little patience to get it going.  I can't just run out and throw some quick mid-week chicken on the grill.

So we are looking for a secondary grill, that lights up quickly.

Which is your favorite model and why????

I have a Weber 330 Genesis and use it roughly 5 times per week.  It's built like a tank.  I put it together (don't trust the hardware stores to do it right) and while doing so, I was amazed at the quality of the parts.  I think it has like a 25 year warranty and the burners and lines are all stainless steel.  I think people are getting 6-10 years out of the burners before they need replaced vs 2 years on most other heavily used grills.

I have been thinking about getting The Big Green Egg.  My local hardware store sells them and they're pretty darn cool.

I have basically the same grill as MQ....and I love it.  However, It might seem a little pricey for a back-up grill,,but I agree with MQ that I think it will last a very long time

Easy Peasy

FOOTNOTE:

[1] He has not one, but two   traditional gas grills. That big 4th of July party we had for a decade out at the homestead required 2 grills to get everyone fed on time. Typically had over 300 people stop by throughout the day, night and next morning (usually about 50 tents out in the field).

[2] NOTE: Both those albums were looooooong before Sarge got healthy with the food/diet and went mostly green stuff.

This is what I enjoy for "grilling":

Oil-free, non-stick, reaches really hot temperatures. It is great for vegetables, fish (sardines and cuttlefish specially), low-fat English breakfast...

I couldn´t live without one. And if you are on a diet or vegetarian, I dare you try getting one. You´ll never look back.
