Last line says it all.... "If there's one place where all freedom bees ... It's nowhere else but here"

If you Northies can't access this the Pigram Brothers are worth hunting out.

I hope Chip Taylor and Billy Joe Shaver work together someday.  They seem like kindred spirits.

I heard  this in Kohl's the other day and it MADE MY DAY! ❤️
It's a super obscure song from Third Eye Blind (90's teenager here) lol
And it's a remake from Alana Davis. . . I hope you enjoy it.

I posted the Everly Brothers yesterday.  So, keeping with the theme of singing siblings...

I heard this song by The Mavericks today and looked up who wrote it, Bruce.

I like him even more now

and send this out to @Boo and the Illustrious Sugar Britches.

Learn something new everyday.  I've heard The Mavericks version of "All That Heaven Will Allow" hundreds of times.  "What a Crying Shame" is one of my favorite albums of all time.  Had no idea that was a cover song.

Speaking of The Mavericks and covers...if you're gonna cover a song already performed by Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis you have to be on point.  Raul Malo nailed it.

hey, @notsmokinjo,

I just pulled up, 'This Is Madeline Peyroux' on spotify

and had a listen or partial listen to 30 or so songs.

👎       👎       👎

PLEASE JO, come out of the black worm hole of her catalog !  We can save you.

Her 'Billie' affectation pisses me off and

in my not so humble opinion, Madeline mangles

'Everybody's Talking', 'Everything I Do Gonna Be Funky' and 'Shout Sister Shout'.

These are important songs to me.

MP is not pour moi but, my friend  is going to love her and thanks for the shout out.

Love,

S

The new Ken Burns documentary Country Music is quickly turning into one of my favorite things I've seen on television in a good long while.  I've watched the first three parts so far and will likely spend a good part of tonight watching at least a couple more hours.

I want more music and less talking heads.

This is in reference to Ken Burns.

I like the history and backstory talking bits.  To each their own....
