Just how many smoking bullets do I have to dodge? Will it ever end? A friend aided in saving my quit tonight. I would have never smoked no matter what anyways, but it felt good having somebody who understood the situation I was in.

Tonight was my second bad craving moment since I quit five months ago. I should feel so lucky.

Hey Wiley. Well done for dodging the bullet.

As you said, you would never have smoked...so the bullets are getting slower and easier to see I guess.

But it's a jungle out there!

It's tough late on, I think we get angry they dare still come! pleased you had someone who understood and could help you to safety. Secure quit or not, nice to have a supportive buddy here or in real life.

All I can offer back is my way of thinking. If I smoked for 23 years (with a year off?!), it's going to take longer than a few months to reset my brain to a never smoking set. Also I am unsure of you but I have have never been a non smoking adult (apart from that year, sigh) so I don't think that helps either.  What we have to do is find so many new ways to cope/manage and deal with life.

So Wiley, 5 months means you have fought all of that, and yesterday, you are doing amazing!!  I mean that, genuinely amazing work at re setting your own brain which is trying to catch you out. xx

All I can say Wiley is you really don't want to go back to day 1 like me again.  It's not just one crave its lots all the time Yuk.

Gabby.....

Your doing great.....take it slow....day by day......don't think far ahead....it's too hard.....

Believe in your self......

When a good friend here said....

Never stick anything in your mouth and set fire to it.....

It sunk in to my brain.....the light bulb went on.....

Upwards on onwards sweetie....

Don't be upset about a craving. Anyone can get them, no matter how far along you are. I know it's frustrating, but at some point in your quit, they will pretty much disappear entirely. I'm done with cravings now and cigarettes repulse me, so trust me when I say that it does get better. All that matters is how you deal with them. You said you never would have smoked, so that's awesome! That's the kind of attitude you need to keep this your forever quit.

At 5+ months you are long past all that.

It is only an issue if you let it be an issue.

Don't let it be an issue.

You are a non-smoker.

Agreed...it is all mental...  YOU DO NOT SMOKE.. it is not an option... keep moving forward... smoking will do nothing but hurt you...why would you crave harm to yourself.

I also say smoking is like a girlfriend that I loved that cheated on me.  I miss her ....but I will never take her back cause I don't want sores on my fun parts... get it!  Why would I?

WIley so glad you had someone around to give you support, it absolutely sucks, when after this length of time a fricken crave comes along and BOOM its like where the hell did that come from!!!  I'm exactly like you, I know I will not smoke and I do not want to smoke, but the craves still make you stop and think, so glad you dodged that bullet would miss my toothbrush baring shark if he wasn't around well done and proud of you xx
