Good for you. Be proactive this time...think of a plan of what you will do when tempted to smoke. Take the pledge every day and post/read often.

Hey Mason,

Sorry to hear, but good for you for jumping back on the QuitTrain. You can do this! Remember we are here to help you, so reach out to us. :)

Good for jumping back on so soon. Do not give up giving up. Quitting is a journey, not an event.

What went wrong this time, and what will you do differently next time?

Why did I fail? Talked myself into one more weekend. One more day. One more cigarette. I'll quit to morrow! Same old excuses.

Hi Mason, if you are quit now, why not set up your ticker for a little inspiration and pick your avatar? Do you have your water and juice ready for the detox?

Good job hopping back on!  The quit train stops for passengers anytime, day or night.  All you need is to want to quit smoking.  That's the secret to success, you have to want to and you have to be willing to fight for it no matter what!! Stop listening to the addiction when it tells you that one more won't hurt or you'll do it tomorrow.  The reality is that today IS tomorrow.

You got this!!       So happy you are here with us. :)

Hi Mason,

Great attitude! You fall of the horse, you get right back on!

Nothing wrong with falling off, its how you deal with it that counts!

Your honest with yourself and that is needed to have a forever quit!

Lets start again and stay close to the board especially if you are having a craving!

Take it one day at a time and soon you will have a week under your belt, then two, then a month ect!

Best of luck to you!

All good advise so far. Ticker is important. Being here too. I say cold turkey because it may seem the hardest it is the easiest in long run and quickest. Most long term quiters have done it without any crutches. It won't kill you and will give you the most pride and sense of accomplishment in first days to help push forward

Pleased your jumping back on. Good to hear the stern talking to self - you need that attitude to not give yourself any leeway to cheat. Get a plan for those craves. Use the SOS board too, it helps if you need it then do it. x

Good to see you jumping back on board Mason, no one judges here, just offers support and advice, learn from what happened and put it behind you and keep looking forward focus on staying quit and stay close to the board, if you feel you need to post a SOS do it, there is always someone here to help and offer support when needed, no more excuses, you want to quit then do xx

Mason, honest to Pete, support helps. Proud of you for jumping back on. Excited for you, it may not be great at first but it just gets better and better. Soon it will be a whole new world for you :)

Glad to see you back and committed to quitting smoking.  Please let us know what areas are particularly troublesome for you because there isn't anything that you can be apprehensive about or are going through regarding smoking that somebody here hasn't already gone through.

Pledge not to smoke each day and take it one day at a time.

Mason- congrats on jumping back on - like the others have said make sure you have a plan for what you will do differently this time - do you have distractions planned , juice available. Stay close and post often - and remember ask for help if you need it ... We are all here to support you !

No more excuses.

One doesn't "fall" off the QuitTrain like it's some kind of accident.

One jumps. On purpose.

Easy Peasy

I agree ... you smoked cause you wanted to.  If you are determined and your mind is right... you can do this.  Anyone can... look around.

Change your mindset... give yourself NO OTHER OPTION.  You will not smoke again.  After the intial physical withdraw... it is all mental.

Find your bada**... and get going.

No more failing... yes I said failing.  You my friend from here are only moving forward in this quit... NO BACKWARDS cause backwards SUCKS.

LET'S GO.. we got you.. that is why we are here.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
