Having  a hard time sleeping, either can't fall asleep or waking up every hour or so. Tried a search on this topic but did not get anything.  Not  a computer person, so don't know if I am doing search wrong.  Advice on sleep

or how to search the forum.

Kris—all of what you are going through is normal. There is some information on sleep disruption in some of the videos and embedded in some of the personal posts made by members. I’m not good at sharing links and stuff though. I’m sure someone will send you some links. I’m 100 days in and my sleep issues have lessened some. I seem to currently be stuck at 10:30-bed, wake up at 2, wake up at 4:30–start my day. And that’s with a sleep aid. Diphenhydramine and ibuprofen cocktail. I try to have no caffeine after 2:30. But the sleep deprivation is hard to deal with and get through. It makes for some really long days. I’m hoping mine will balance out more when I go back to work. In the beginning of my quit I looked up tips on getting a good nights sleep. Tried most of them and stuck with what worked for me. I do hope that you can get some rest soon!

Thanks for the info,I will do more readinggp on the site to see what might help.  I was having problems sleeping before I quit.  My doc just keeps giving me stuff that is off label.  I want to scream just give me a sleeping pill and be done with it.  I have found out that doctors in Texas ( and other states) are not only being monitored for opioid scripts but also the benzo drugs, I.E. sleeping medications valium, xanex etc. So they are afraid  to give scripts for either, even if they know if is the right thing.

I do not doc shop, I have been with same GP for over 25 years, you think they would get it. I have now been awake for 27 hours.

I responded to your other post .

Please  be careful if taking any sleep aids . There I hope are safer routes than this. My doctor explained to me the dangers of addictions and how they really mess up your head . Way over prescribed thinking no harm done and now they realize just how much harm they are causing after they got people hooked on them . 

I wake up at 4 most days , yes it's annoying but I still get enough sleep really . I'm not a day sleeper either . 

i hope you find something that will help , something safe .

My sleep pattern was messed up for a month or so....

I sat up reading old posts on another site before I came here .....

Our bodies are all messed up ...but it does settle .....

Maybe finding ways to help instead of sleeping tablets ,which is never a good idea ....

I found Qi Gong on YouTube  ...it's a very relaxing form of Chinese Art ...

This relaxed me alot ...and I still do it today ...

Deep breathing exercises ....Meditation ....there are natural ways to try and help...

It sounds like you had this problem before Quitting ...

Hope you find a answer which helps you ....

@Kris, yep pretty normal. I had it too. I've also had problems with it at other times when I have too much on my mind. What works for me is taking an OTC sleep aid. I found that just one pill a couple nights in a row was enough to take the edge off and get me back to a more normal sleep pattern. Maybe try that?🤗

I think sleep issues do happen in the early days.  One thing I had to do was reduce my coffee intake.  I think the body is able to absorb caffeine better once we quit smoking so we need to cut it by half or more.
