DECAFFEINATING!!!

I’ve figured out that I have to cut the caffeine! I’ve reduced my coffee down to a practically tasteless and colorless cup of hot water and it’s too much! The little bit of jitters I get from it is enough to tell my brain that  I am having an anxiety attack even though I’m not, but this has triggered one. 😞 I would have never thought that I was such a weak and feeble minded person. The caffeine will go though because I am determined to overcome my physical and mental addiction to cigarettes! God, I will miss my Cokes though.

@Gus, I found myself naturally reducing my caffeine from two cups a day down to barely one after quitting. Guess my body doesn't need it so much since quitting 😊

Nicotine doubles the rate that the body depletes caffeine.  An ex-smoker consuming the same amount of caffeine after quitting will feel like they have doubled their caffeine consumption.

Probably not a bad idea to cut back on the caffeine when quitting smoking.  Unless you need to stay awake for a while and walk to Pensacola for some reason.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
