Better than cigarettes

So, we all know the long term benefits of quitting smoking - we are no longer buying suicide on instalment plan ;)

But I thought it would be fun to see some of the more short term benefits, and it might cheer some of us up if we are feeling a bit blue.

So, what did you all buy recently with the money that you would usually have spent on cigarettes? How many days 'smoking money' did it cost, and why is it better than cigarettes?! Big or small, it doesn't matter.

I'll start.

I bought a royal blue velvet jacket which I will wear to my cousins wedding on Saturday. It cost about 3 weeks smoking money. It is better than cigarettes because it looks good, which makes me feel good. Plus, it's not trying to kill me ;).

Smoker-action would never have spent his cigarette money on anything other than cigarettes...

better than cigarettes I bought myself a lovely purple top which I wore out on Saturday for a chinese (which was also paid for by not smoking) with friends.

2 dresses, a bikini, a swimsuit, a pair of shoes, new lingerie set. :D

I might have overspent a little, but I deserved it!

I started getting pedicures more often and I spent way too much money on a new comforter for my bed. I always have money in my wallet now, I can't remember the last time I used a credit card except for shopping on-line :)

You know...it is kinda funny (Well not really funny)... but I have not seen any extra money.  I used to keep it aside and i said that I was going to take a cruise again.  But I ended up spending it on an emergency.  Since then I have decided to not save it because it was reminding me everyday that I was a smoker previously. I like putting that part of me behind me... I won.

Want to know what is better then cigarettes..... MY LIFE!!!

Vacations! - all my cigarette money is going towards air fair now that i can fly!

Did not want to fly (travel) before because it would interrupt with my smoking!

Now i got my pass port and the world is my new play ground and i'm going to play!

Do not worry, I will give you fair warning before i show up on you door step lol ;)

The Sarge bought a Trango Big Bro[1], Number 4, last week.

In preparation for doing this route next month:

The approach to the climb is, itself, a climb. There's a small climb on the trail to The Arch that is unprotectable any other way - it needs a Big Bro (or go home)  and the Sarge won't do it without adequate protection.

Was on sale. Cost: 76 bucks. Less than two week's of the old Phillip Morris bill.

FOOTNOTE:

[1] its for protecting from a fall on climbing routes with really (really) wiiiiiiiiiiiide cracks that are too big for anything else to fit.

Clothes- boring when a gift as a kid. Now you got control and you buy yourself boring stuff? Shoes go in this catagorie too

Now how about something better than parts which make your motorcycle faster?

How about a real catapult that throws cat? Like those pumpkin chuckers?

Wye I understand the dentist but I didn't know you were from the island.

Honestly, I have no idea where the extra money went... it just "went", LOL. All I know is that I'd be over $2000 poorer if I still smoked.... :D
